Michelle Williams As Marilyn Monroe For 'My Week With Marilyn' (PHOTO)

With a release date set, the Weinstein Company is slowly revealing more images from their upcoming Oscar-bait film, "My Week With Marilyn."

Having netted an Academy Award nomination for a blue collar woman in a fading relationship in last year's "Blue Valentine," Michelle Williams glams it up to play Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. The story, based on the memoir by Colin Clark, tells the story of a young film assistant on the set of "The Prince and the Showgirl," in which Monroe starred with Sir Laurence Olivier. When new husband Arthur Miller leaves the film set London, Clark takes Monroe out for a week of incognito fun.

Eddie Redmayne takes on the role of Clark, while Kenneth Branagh plays Olivier. Dominic Cooper, Judi Dench and Emma Watson also feature in the film.

The film will premiere at the New York Film Festival. Click here for an earlier photo from the film.

I wish her the best. I used to work at a post production studio in Manhattan, where I saw many celebrities go in and out. Of all the people I saw, Michelle Williams was by far the friendliest and most down-to-earth. I remember after she finished her session, she asked me how to get to the F train (she lived in Brooklyn at the time). I offered to call a car service, since that was our protocol for celebrities. She said that she was fine with the train. I unfortunately knew every train except for the orange ones (BDF), so she told me not to worry about it; she'd find her way. She spoke to me as if I was her equal, not anything less (which is true, though most celebrities don't think that way). I will always remember her calm demeanor and I hope her career lasts a lifetime, because she deserves it.

I love Michelle Williams but it takes a lot more than a hair do and glasses to evoke Monroe.

Even a cardboard cut-out of Marilyn is sexier and more charismatic than Williams.
Michelle is as plain as a fence post.
Horrible choice.

Christina Hendricks from MADMEN would have been a fun choice for Marilyn....

I like Michelle, but she does not have MM's sparkle. Then again, who does?

A good actress can pull it off and Michelle is wonderful.

I can't see Michelle Williams as Marilyn. Marilyn had a special kind of beauty and an innocent air about her. The only actress I feel is beautiful enough and has the talent to be Marilyn is Charlize Theron.

Too tall and willowy. Also, being cast to recreate a real life figure in a biopic is more than just being identical physically. It's about recreating the essence of the person. It's about acting. Ultimately, there's no actor who can really be Marilyn. And why would we want that anyway?

I knew Shelly Williams from the Christian youth theater in San Diego..She is about 5'3" at the most...NOT MARILYN AT ALL. ..great actor though...I will just have to see it for myself, her playing Marilyn..

Michelle Williams,,Marilyn Monroe.???..I just don't see it..She is a good actress, but,,not that altra SEXY like Marilyn..so many other actors that could of been a fabulous Monroe. Bad Casting for sure...

I am excited to see this. I think she is perfect for the part and all of the photos of her as Marilyn are really striking.

Michelle is way too thin to play curvaceous Marilyn.

No she isn't. She has a regular body. She is not overly thin like a lot of other actresses.
