iPhone 5 Release Date Rumor: October 7 For New iPhones?

And the iPhone 5 release date rumor-palooza continues.

Apple blog 9to5Mac, citing anonymous sources, is reporting that Apple plans to release their next generation iPhones on October 7, with the devices available for pre-order through the Apple website on September 30. This claim jibes with a rumor by "iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch blog" TiPb , which fingered October 7 as the device's release date. An emphatic All Things Digital report also gives October as the definite--*definite*--release month of the new iPhone.

The iPhone 5 was first rumored by AllThingsD to be released some time in September, but recent rumors have suggested an October release date. iPhone 5 features, like the release date, are all pure speculation at this point, though popular rumors suggest the dual-core A5 processor and an upgrade in megapixels for the rear-facing camera.

Really? A lot of hot air about what exactly? Any thinner, or better battery, hmm. . .or just plain superficial changes and too much promo? Enough already. Make the IPad Skype/phone compatible and you'll have something truly new.

I voted yes on the 10/7 date, but it's just a gut feeling. I wouldn't be surprised to be wrong.

Whenever it comes out, I will definitely be picking one up. I love my 3GS, but ever since I handled a iPhone4 at the Apple store, I've been dreaming of that display.

Also, I'm very much looking forward to iOS5. That'll be a lot of fun.

I'm a Verizon customer who has waited 2 years to get his iPhone (got the Droid in Nov 09 since Verizon didn't have the iPhone yet and I've been pleased with it but always was looking forward to getting an iPhone). I am now counting down the days!

I can upgrade in November so if the Iphone 5 is released in Oct then that gives Apple time to fix any bugs it may have.
