Liam Gallagher Taking Brother Noel To Court

Noel Gallagher Solo Album

The Oasis bros are taking their sibling issues to court. Liam Gallagher, former lead singer of Oasis, put out a statement, given to the Sun, providing his reasons for suing his brother. The reasons wind back to 2009:

I HAVE taken legal action against Noel Gallagher for statements he made claiming Oasis pulled out of the 2009 V Festival Chelmsford gig because I had a hangover.
That is a lie and I want Oasis fans and others who were at V to know the truth.
I was gutted when I couldn't play the gig because I didn't want to let the fans down.
But the truth is I had laryngitis, which Noel was made fully aware of that morning, diagnosed by a doctor.

The world must know Liam was not hungover. Liam also wants you to know that Noel falsely attributed the demise of Oasis to a fight they had.

"The truth is there was no such discussion or row between us," Liam said.

Liam claims that all he wants out of this is the satisfaction of hearing his brother apologize.

If you haven't been following this sibling rivalry, they've had a few bumps in the road since 2009. Back in January of this year, Liam accused Noel of taking material for his solo album from Oasis sessions during Dig Out Your Soul.

"I've heard his fucking new record 'cos I fucking sung on half of it," Liam said. "Fucking nonsense."

Again, when Noel announced the release date, Liam tweeted one word: "SHITBAG."

Most recently, when Noel dropped his first single off Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, "The Death of You and Me," Liam tweeted something that most couldn't help but see as another stab: "1 word....Dido."

Ouch.

Stay tuned to see what goes down when Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds drops on Oct. 17.

I think we should locate Mrs. Gallagher, and have her give them both a good, hard mommy slap to the side of their heads. Then they need to be put in 'time out', and grounded off their smartphones until they can be civil to one another.

Maybe if they took their heads out of each other's as*es they could talk to each other like human beings.

Oasis(def.): "a place of peace, safety, or happiness in the midst of trouble or difficulty."

Hmmm...now what am I missing here?

The Gallagher brothers have been coasting on two pretty good albums from the mid-90s for about 15 years now. Everyone was excited about Noel's new song that came out a few weeks ago, but then they heard it. Dreadful.

Name me a Oasis song that actually rips off The Beatles.

It was more the Beatles look they stole, musically Noel chose to rip off T Rex.

Oasis was probably the worst critically acclaimed rock band of all-time. I mean...name five good songs by them. There aren't five.
08:30 PM on 08/19/2011
Wow, you know absolutely nothing about this band - we Brits consider this band to be one of the most important of all time, and we should know considering our great history of music. Their first two albums and their b-sides from the first few years were praised to high heaven when they were released. Typical yanks getting it all wrong again.

Gosh, thanks so much for the insult, and thanks so making into a Brits vs Yanks thing. It so happens that most of my favorite bands from roughly that era, including The Verve and Stone Roses, were British. I know plenty about Oasis. I've heard it all. As to being praised to high heaven, yeah, I mentioned they were critically over-rated.

For what exactly? There are a LOT of royalties there, so don't you think they would have if they had a case? A couple other bands have successfully sued Oasis for royalties, why not the Beatles?

Hello, my name is "I've been irrelevant for years but I won't go away".

You might know me as the Gallagher Brothers, or "those $#!^ who think they are the Beatles, but not in a funny 'you're not the Beatles' way, more of a lets replicate their sound and their look and dare people to call us on it".

First song I heard from them was "D'ya Know What I Mean?" it was a giant bag of awesome that just socked me in the face but it took me forever to know who did it. First glance of Oasis in name was Celebrity Deathmatch where they faced off against each other, that says it all about their American and possibly global perception. These brothers together make awesome music, the problem is they can't stand each other and it's unfortunate. This court case is nothing more than pouring acid on old wounds, it's sad really.
