UPDATE, 4:09 pm: White House Pool reports that Obama left his Chilmark compound 15 minutes after returning from the bookstore to go golfing at the Vineyard Golf Club, a private course in Edgartown.

Obama is reportedly playing with Eric Whitaker, Marvin Nicholson and Michael Brush. This is now the third time he has played a round at the Vineyard Golf Club during his August vacation. In 2010, the President played a round with Marvin Nicholson, Eric Whitaker, and Representative James Clyburn (D-SC). In 2009, Obama played with Marvin Nicholson and White House assistant chef Sam Kass.

PREVIOUSLY: A little under 24 hours after President Obama and Bo arrived in Martha's Vineyard (where he cuddled a tiny Red Sox fan), the Dad-in-Chief and his daughters, Malia and Sasha, ventured out to one of their favorite haunts, Bunch of Grapes Bookstore, in Vineyard Haven.

The First Family also ventured out to Bunch of Grapes last year, when the President purchased Tinkers by Paul Harding and A Few Corrections by Brad Leithauser, and was gifted an advance copy of Freedom, Jonathan Franzen's hit book. Obama was wearing a nearly identical outfit as 2010, save a White Sox hat.

Last year, PlumTV caught up with Bunch of Grapes owner Dawn Braasch, who gushed: "We talked about what books he was reading, books that are coming out. He was very clear that this was for his girls. And we kind of let him shop quietly on his own. But he was just the loveliest person, I felt like I'd known him my whole life....[I was crying] because I adore him and it was such an honor to have him in my bookstore."
