Not happy, but more positive than if the victims were not armed. A shooting is never happy unless the target is made out of paper, metal or plastic.

The FBI maintains that violent crime has dropped over the last three years. Where has it dropped? There is a shooting almost nightly here in the Pittsburgh area. Now we have mob robberies and groups of teens assaulting people on the street all across America. I'm getting sick of being lied to.

Have you considered arming yourself? If this is distasteful, how about mace, or pepper spray?
Things will get much worse when certain bad, (and some normally good) elements get hungry enough, ya' know?

I carry a P239 Sig Sauer 9mm with ten Hydro-shock rounds in an extra capacity factory magazine with a back up clip in my pocket. I am a U.S.M.C. fourth award expert rifle and pistol shooter. I try to get out at least monthly and fire the range. Very rarely do I miss.

You are correct about things getting worse. Pretty soon it will be those who are victims and those who carry protection. In Fairmont WVa, the Marion County Sheriff has gone as far as to encourage citizens to carry because "the police can't be everywhere, all the time". This is something that is happening all across America in small towns as well as major cities.

Actually they report that violent crime rates (including murder) have dropped by about 50% in the past 20-30 years.

Like you, I'm a tad skeptical. Any evidence that they're lying?

Just look around. Twenty years ago, you never heard about people killing their children like you do today. They control the information. How would you go about disproving anything that they say is factual or not?
