It's a scripted production. The Seacrest/Jenner business. How many stylists/handlers dressed and primped her before that scene? Unless you can afford to lose them, NOBODY wears real jewelry on vaca.
What a fake boo-hoo.
The "wedding" is a production that will earn them upwards of $13M. Sponsored, paid for, and recouped in the Oct. TV production. It's all a business.

Perhaps she was crying due to sentimental value, but I doubt it, because the first thing out of her mouth wasnt, "So and so gave me these" or "I bought these after I achieved X, Y, Z" but rather, "THAT WAS A $75,000 EARRING!" What a disgusting person. Since Kris saw all of this and still married her, they obviously deserve each other. Wish them the best! Please don't reproduce!

She wasn't 'swimming', they decided to jump into the water with their clothes on and she may of forgot that she had those earrings in. She was fine jumping in until Kris threw her in and that's what caused her to lose her earring.
