Luggage: What Do You Travel With? (SLIDESHOW)

Baggage: we've all got it. For travel writers and editors it usually comes in the form of a black wheelie bag exhibiting numerous rips and scratches, bejeweled with torn leather tags and destination stickers from trips long past. It's amazing how much a simple accessory can really reflect our lives.

But we've got nothing to hide. We're ready to proudly display the duffles, napsacks and backpacks that have embraced our collections of t-shirts while we've airport hopped - and we hope you are too. Below, in all their glory, you can peruse through our luggage, possibly the most personal items we own.

A good travel bag is an essential. Invest in a quality leather bag and it will last you many years of frequent travelling and that won't break after a few uses! Stick to a simple colour and look for bags with a long or lifetime guarantee. Thanks for the post. Ciao - http://www.maxwellscottbags.com

My big wheelie is purple. Very few of those on the carousel. My present carry-on bag is my favorite ever. It's a small wheelie, with a small backpack that zips off the front. That has come in handy on so many trips for shopping, short hikes, etc. Once I get thru security, I can zip off the backpack. Once I reach my seat, the wheelie part goes up above, while the small backpack can go at my feet. Keeps all the stuff I'll need while in flight handy.
The back of the main wheelie bag zips open to access shoulder straps so that that bag can be a back pack as well. Every once in a while that is very handy.
This carry on is the lightest one I've ever had that has wheels.

:) #4....before I got remarried I spent 18 months living out of a purple Adidas duffel and a laptop case.

Now we have to travel with a large suitcase a carry on bag, a makeup case, a bag for shoes, and a travel iron.

I stil live out of the Adidis duffel
