Miss Piggy To Appear At Opening Ceremony For Fashion's Night Out (PHOTO)

“Modeling is my life. It is my destiny, I shall accept nothing less,” proclaimed Miss Piggy in 1981’s “The Great Muppet Caper.”

Now it seems as if she’s finally fulfilled her stylish destiny, playing the editor-in-chief of French Vogue in the upcoming Muppet movie (move over, Emmanuelle Alt!).

So it’s only natural that Opening Ceremony, arbiter of downtown style, has tapped the sartorially savvy swine for an appearance at its Fashion’s Night Out festivities at New York's Ace Hotel.

The fabulous diva, garnering buzz for her flick’s November 23 release, will pose for photos and more importantly, unveil the new Muppets x Opening Ceremony collection. Hopefully the line will be as amazing as OC’s similarly whimsical “Where the Wild Things Are” collab with Spike Jonze a couple years back.

We just don’t want to see anything resembling this. Also, no word on whether Piggy will be outfitted for the event by designer pal Marc Jacobs.

I have it on ~tres bon~ authority that Miss Piggy and Kermie are awaiting the SCOTUS' decision on marriage between Pink and Green, although publically, she insists in her book, "Miss Piggy's Guide to Life," :

"Weddings are wonderful, but I do think theya re a trifle dull for people who are not getting married. Kermie and I both agree that right now is not the proper time for our matrimonial nuptualities - my career, you see (the dear understands ~completely~). But when the time comes, we intend to dispense with all the fuss and bother, and have a simple ceremony in a charming little country church, limited to just a dozen or so intimate friends - certainly no more than 500 at the absolute tops - and just a couple of pool reporters, and one teensy camera crew."

Finally, the fashion biz self-satirizing..not to mention the fact that tho' I truly love her, Miss Piggy has, sadly, the personality traits of this bunch, narcissistic, bitchy, self-involved, violent (a la Naomi Campbell) and sexually harasses poor Kermie at every opportunity...
