Facebook Hits 1 TRILLION Page Views

Just how big is the world's largest social networking site? New data from Google's DoubleClick found that Facebook served up 1 trillion page views during the month of June and was visited by 870 million unique users.

Facebook's had ten times more page views than the next most popular website, in terms of unique visitors, on DoubleClick's list of the web's most-visited sites: YouTube had 100 billion page views and 790 million unique users in June.

Interestingly, China's Baidu search engine had even more page views than YouTube (120 billion), but was ranked eighth on the list of most popular sites, with 310 million unique visitors. (See the full list from DoubleClick here)

It should be noted that the ranking "excludes adult sites, ad networks, domains that don't have publicly visible content or don't load properly, and certain Google sites," explains Google, which recently made history as the first web company to reach 1 billion users in a month, according to comScore.

Facebook has confirmed that it has "more than 750 million active users," and Digital Inspiration notes that the number of unique visitors recorded by DoubleClick is higher than Facebook's number as "certain [sections] of the site – Facebook Pages and Profiles for example – are open to non-users as well."

In November 2010, Hitwise found that Facebook accounted for nearly one quarter of all page views in the U.S.

A couple of days ago they were bragging 750,000,000 What did they do? Find 250,000,000 accounts that were held up in snail-mail?
Posters point out that even when they close their accounts they're still counted as active and it seems more are being closed every day due to hacking, etc. Something smells. I tried facebook and am seriously dismayed by the lack of security. What ever happened to e-mail? At least with e-mail I'm not subjected to mind numbing suggestions of friends of friends of friends and the like.
I feel for people who are damaged from these vermine who steal from innocents who can ill afford such invasions muchless know what to do about it.

Someone might want to tell HuffPo web editors that 1 Trillion has twelve zeroes after the 1. Not nine (as in 1 billion) which is in the headline on the homepage.

I think MyFaceSpaceBook is a way for the government and hackers and who knows what...to know our every move and to know what we want to buy or what we need and our every move! Why would we want for everyone to know what we are doing everyday? That is what a letter to your close friend and the yearly Christmas letter is for, and should I forget... "The Phone Call?" Oh yeah only people you accept can get on your page???.... that's why I get emails from my son and others that contain viruses? Because he / they visited a MyFaceSpaceBook page that was infected? This is the new Epidemic... and we glorify this guy??? He is not the next Steve Jobs or Edison .... he is something else... I haven't put my finger on it... maybe someone else has an answer???
