Michelle Williams 'My Week With Marilyn' Poster Released; Williams Glams It Up As Marilyn (PHOTO)

It's a well-known fact that biopics are particularly difficult and audiences are particularly skeptical.

Of course, for a woman who is still regarded as the most coveted of all screen goddesses, the pressure to deliver is sky-high.

In the first poster for the highly-anticipated, "My Week With Marilyn," Michelle Williams plays it straight-up and unadulterated starlet.

Here the "Blue Valentine" star is platinum-haired behind oversized glasses and looking beyond the crowd of adoring fans.

Many have tried to pull off the look, but from the poster, Williams looks like spitting image of the famous sex symbol.

You wouldn't be able to make any actress look like Marilyn - she was one of a kind but Michelle is an awesome actress and I am sure she'll do a great job playing this role. The acting moves me more so than making the actor look like the character they're playing.

Worst casting ever! How do you put a woman who's known for her earthy, dowdy, plain jane appeal in the role of the ultimate icon of beauty, sensuality, and sexuality? You can see the frumpy, granola, hunchy walk of Michelle Williams, through the coat and the beyond the heels, you can see those qualities. She's a great actress, and can probably do herself proud through the acting, but the look..... that's a complete miss.

taking exception with my cliche or with my point of view? either way, i think i have to back of the plain jane as clearly, that is overstating it. i just find her average looking, maybe even attractive, however, rather unglamorous.
