Copenhagen Philharmonic Flash Mob (VIDEO): Symphony Plays Ravel's 'Bolero'

Last week, we saw Machine Gun Kelly get arrested for jumping on tables at a mall in Cleveland, Ohio, and inciting crowds of high school kids to scream and run after him. This week, we get a lesson in being civilized from the Danes.

The Copenhagen Philharmonic gives us a much more peaceful display of what you can do with a flash mob at Copenhagen Central Station, where they hypnotized their audience by playing Ravel's "Bolero."

What a stunning piece of music, performed in a very innovative manner.

That harmonic move towards the end (the bass moves up to E for about 8 measures, and back to C for the ending) is still one of the most thrilling moments in music.

Hmmm! "Bolero" hypnotized people??? As a composer I have always liked Ravel's "Bolero." As Ravel once said, "My only masterpiece and it doesn't even have a development section." BUT hypnotizing people? I don't think so!

Awsome! This definitely was not shot with a cell phone camera like many impromptu flash mob captures though. They had multiple cameras all around capturing the orchestra as well as the audience reactions. Nicely planned.
