Happy Hot Dog Man, A Bizarre Infomercial For Useless Hot Dog Tool (VIDEO)

First Posted: 08/25/11 09:18 AM ET Updated: 10/25/11 06:12 AM ET

Serious Eats points us to the strangest food video we've seen in a long time (well, maybe not).

The infomercial for the "Happy Hot Dog Man" features a plastic device that cuts a regular hot dog into one that creepily resembles a person. Pretty much every line in the infomercial is corny, with particular highlights including "it brings ordinary hot dogs to life!" and "make your dinner a wiener with Happy Hot Dog Man!"

On the company's website, one testimonial declares "This is the best thing to happen to hot dogs since ketchup!" You be the judge.

I think cooking should be fun and children should definitely be included in it, but how about instead of wasting money on this ridiculous product made to somehow make horrible processed meat product somehow MORE appealing to children, they teach their kids healthy eating habits and allow them to help with cooking meals. Or is that just craziness?
