Kreayshawn To Cover VMA Red Carpet For MTV.com

Kreayshawn Vma Red Carpet

When we curl up on the couch on Sunday night, hurricane raging outside our windows, we'll be greeted with the ever-friendly face of Kreayshawn, who has the distinguished role of covering the red carpet for MTV's Video Music Awards.

Announced by MTV, Kreayshawn's role will be to host the network's Red Carpet Report for MTV.com. The "Gucci, Gucci" breakout star told MTV.com, "I can harass celebrities about what they're wearing, what they ate before they got to the carpet, all sorts of funny stuff."

She can also rub elbows with her competitors, as the female rapper is nominated for Best New Artist.

While some may protest that she's not exactly a style expert, Kreayshawn has been embraced by the fashion world. The 21-year-old earned a spot alongside models like Gisele and Lindsey Wixson on the covers of i-D's Pre-Fall 2011 issue.

And, of course, her hit song is all about designer labels. As Kreayshawn told Stylelist:

"Gucci Gucci" was basically, like, me moving to L.A., seeing the typical girl that dresses all prissy, and I call them basic b*tches. You know people think it's a song that's going after Gucci's neck or something like that and it's not. You can wear it but don't let it define you. Honestly if a girl's wearing, like, a Gucci shirt with a Gucci belt and a purse and a visor, that's not cute at all. You can't get away with that -- with me --but you can always sprinkle it in there with your own stuff and it's all good.

Now that is the kind of girl we want dishing on red carpet style. Move over, Joan Rivers -- Kreayshawn is here.

Anybody who calls somebody a "square" should not be dictating what is "hot".

How do I not know who she is? I will have to google her. Using the n word? Really? How does she think that is ok? Wow.

Actually Huffington Post like many who don't actually listen to Kreayshawn's music got the story wrong. She doesn't use the N-word her sidekick V-Nasty uses the N-word. Kreayshawn has done numerous interviews saying how people are mixing her her up with V-Nasty and how she doesn't approve of the "White Girl Mob" using the N-word.

She does deny using the n-word & I have heard some of her songs including "Gucci Gucci"
But I have to disagree with you saying that she doesn't approve of members of her group using the n-word.
I have seen several interviews were she has simply said "I don't use the word, V-nasty & other members use it but you can't blame them. Where they are from it's common for everybody to use it including white people"
That seems like more of a defense from her than a disapproval.

I dont mean to be THAT guy...but who??

This girl is trash & so is her supposed rap group called the "white girl mob". Their lyrics are laced with the use of the n-word.
I don't support or like the fact black rappers do it. But giving the history of the word why would a white person even use it. It's just a respect thing.

Who cares. As soon as BET is censored, we can address the "who is allowed to use the 'n-word'" situation.

You have obviously not watched BET. The are notoriously known for their strict censorship.
Many artist videos have been banned for overly sexual or controversial content.
They also bleep out profanity that other networks allow on tv.
So don't assume or speak about what you don't know about.
No one is "allowed" to use the word its disrespectful for blacks or anyone to use.
Take your "who cares" & shove it. & please go back under a rock.

I refuse to listen to her music, but much like Nicki Minaj, I find her personality and overall human-ness to be very interesting....

I agree with you 100% her music is trash in my opinion but she seems like a real person not hollywood

I'm with you on that - a part of it is definitely seeing that they are knowingly exploiting the culture that they're making money from. Eh. Kudos to her for getting to do interviews.
