UPDATE, 2:16 p.m.: The Obamas have left Blue Heron Farm and are headed for the beach.
With what White House spokesman Josh Earnest called "cable chatter" about his vacation taking over the news cycle, President Obama stayed largely out of sight Wednesday, the seventh day of his family's summer vacation.
The nine-hole course made special preparations for the presidential outing one golfer told Boston.com: “They were limiting the number of golf carts. Some of the golfers were sort of [upset] because they’d made tee times but couldn’t get a golf cart.’’
With Hurricane Irene approaching the East Coast, Obama played with regular golf buddies Eric Whitaker, Marvin Nicholson and White House chef Sam Kass, who lost a ball on the sixth hole.
