Princess Diana Documentary To Debut On Reelz, Reveal Unknown Personal Details (VIDEO)

Much was made about Princess Diana's would-be 50th birthday, which passed on July 1 of this year. Fashion tributes were assembled, Newsweek covers Photoshopped.

Reelz went and made a TV special called "Diana at 50," which will air on August 27 at 7PM. The TV channel got tons of interviews with people close to the princess, including her butler and confidante Paul Burrell.

In the preview clip, Burrell is surprisingly open about Princess Di's bulimia, her unhappiness with Prince Charles and the mental torment she endured as a royal. If the rest of the TV special is as packed with tidbits as the clip, we might actually learn some Diana factoids we never knew before.

But don't hold your breath for anything too controversial -- for that, you'll have to see "Unlawful Killing," the documentary film that aired at Cannes that includes a never-before-seen photograph of Diana taken as she lay dying after her car crashed in Paris.

"Unlawful Killing" won't be seen on TV anytime soon, however. The film was deemed too graphic for British movie theaters... so we're guessing Reelz won't be picking it up.

Turn Again to Life

If I should die and leave you here a while,
be not like others sore undone,
who keep long vigil by the silent dust.
For my sake turn again to life and smile,
nerving thy heart and trembling hand
to do something to comfort other hearts than thine.
Complete these dear unfinished tasks of mine
and I perchance may therein comfort you.

by Mary Lee Hall, read at the funeral of Princess Diana by her eldest sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale

Well, shucks!! Once again, I'm a day late in seeing something interesting to watch. This is the 28th!!!!

.Diana was a very special young woman. Only a woman who has loved a cheating man can understand the anguish she endured. Obviously, the Queen wasn't an understanding MIL and only compounded Diana's misery. Let us hope for Kate's sake, the royal's will be a more loving family, if at all possible..

RIP dear Diana ..

Ps
To those who love to find fault: MIL = Mother-in-Law
RIP=Rest in Peace

People are FAST to pass judgment on Dianna, BUT no one know the HELL she put up with, Her butler knows a lot and thats why he was so loyal to her, Dianna kept diaries and a lot of them have VANISHED because of what they had to say about these so called royals.... Self appointed parasites is more like it!! Do a little research on the subject of Princess Diana's murder and you'll come to realize the possibility is VERY VERY REAL...... She said a long time before her death the the Royal Family had a plot to kill her in her car.... and how did she die..... in a car that was tampered with or even possibly taken over by remote control !!! Like I said DO THE RESEARCH, The technology does exist to do this.........

For anyone interested in a theory of what happened to Princess Diana that you probably haven't seen anywhere else before, you might want to read "The Biggest Secret". It is a book by David Icke, a conspiracy theorist who has written a number of books, who does an amazing amount of research for his books. He has also stated that for anyone who can bring him PROOF of what is really going on, he will make SURE it gets published. Since there have been a number of attempts on his life, you can bet there is truth in, at the very least, some of what he writes.

David Icke played as goalkeeper here for Coventry City and if you did some research into him you'll find he's definitely away with the fairies.

Actually, Pete, I did do quite a bit of research, but it's been many years since that time.

What's relevant is that I actually started with "Robot's Rebellion" then progressed forward through his books one at a time in the order they were written. Due to medical issues, I've not been reading much in recent years, so I can't really comment on what is or is not happening in his life at this time. But, thanks for your comments. Perhaps I will be able to do some additional research and bring myself more up to speed in the future.

No, we have NO PROOF Diana would've married Dodi. Paul Burrell said they were close & she never said she was In love with Dodi. Actually she was In love with Dr. Hasnat Kahn, but his family
didn't approve of the match & he hated the media. Her siblings didn't think she would marry Dodi either. In fact all she did was complain about that trip to Paul & said she couldn't wait to come home. It has been said In a previous documentary that Diana was assassinated because she supported getting rid of the use of land mines. People make money off of the sale of them & let's face it, the British & US Military aren't going to stop using them because they help us win wars. Diana always said she wasn't political but that particular cause WAS really a political one for some. There was a man In that documentary who said he heard from a former associate
that a "High Profile" person was to be assassinated. When he asked the same person after it happened, the guy said "Yes, it was an assassination." It was by their accounts a combined effort of the US & British Governments. If there are documents we may not see them revealed for 100 years probably.

The marriage was for an heir and everyone knew it. Princess Diana herself said in her book walking down the aisle she was looking for Camilla in the crowd.
04:49 PM on 08/28/2011
She was 20 years old and very inexperienced...I'm sure she didn't realize what she was REALLY in for!

I watched this special last night. It was interesting, but didn't reveal "unknown personal details" as the article claims. The interview with Paul Burrell is good, but if you're looking for juicy gossip you won't find it here. He basically told us what we already know, that she was emotionally tormented by Charles and had an eating disorder. Anyone who loved Diana will enjoy the special, but don't go into it with high expectations. It's really just more of the same.

I am not sure that Charles tormented her, she came from a dysfunctional family and brought her own baggage/garbage into the relationship.....

I, of course didn't know Diana personally, but as a person, I loved her for her humanitarian efforts. No one here on this page, knew her....personally, yet you seem to have nothing but disdain for her. Most of you weren't there at the time this happened. She was a lovely young woman who will be remembered by the majority of us as a kind, loving person. The comments here, I think just proves that the generations, as they go on, have less and less of the compassion gene in them.

DIANA Had To DIE= SADLY=-Think of This-She was Going To Marry DODI And He would One Day Soon Be The KING of EGYPT=OK=Next Fast Forward to 2020 and The New King of ENGLAND Has a Half Brother WHO is Now The King of EGYPT=And Also Diana's SON- =THINK ABOUT THAT The POWERS That Be Simply =COULD NOT ALLOW SUCH A THING -SO == Sadly They Had Her Killed
04:58 PM on 08/28/2011
Absolutely! I was JUST on the phone with a friend, told her I saw the special last night, and your thoughts were PRECISELY what I uttered to her. No half/Egyptian related to the throne for the Windsors! Of course the monarchy had her killed. I didn't share your thoughts on his being king of Egypt, but certainly they would have had a child, and it couldn't be allowed.

The last time I checked, Egypt isn't a monarchy.
Charles will someday be king of GB and Northern Ireland. He did not have a half-brother and was unrelated to Dody Fayed. Likewise, if Diana had a son with Fayed, he would not be of royal blood, even if he and William were half-brothers; Diana had been stripped of her royal title prior to her death.

I feel Di and I had a lot in common, We we shared a birthday, same age, I was blonde and tall, we had kids the same age and we both had men in power who had a mistress. I wonder if she took the same abuse from her husband that I did from mine, we both seemed to share the same problems with bulimea? The difference is I left in the middle of the night with my kids and never looked back. I think Di would be alive today if she left a long time before she did and made a life on her own. That would have also meant that she would have had to change her appearance and become the average joe (joeann). Harder for her but the rest of us in abusive marriages know TO LEAVE. Too bad she couldn't do that because of who is was. I miss her and the wonderful work she did with charities and AIDS awareness. No one can replace her.

Great points. I do think she was addicted to the Press and Position...and I understand she was also a spending freak - about a million a year on clothes....a million....every year..... I was abused also so I do know exactly what you mean...

On the day Diana died, no-one at the Department of State thought it was an accident. No one at Foreign Ministries in Latin America thought it was an accident.

In fact I was in the Itamaraty Palace, headquarters of the Brazilian foreign ministry in Brasilia, the capital of the largest and richest country in Latin America and no one, but no one said that.

Charles did not marry Camilla for anything other than she was his MOTHER; he didn't have one as the Queen was too busy for him (refer to old news clips, etc). He ached for someone to love him & Camilla babied & coddled him. She did everything she could to become his wife; better late than never. She's a hideously ugly woman, both inside & out. There exists women like her all over the world, but of course this one is famous because of what she did to Diana.
I'm surprised the boys have taken to her, knowing what she did to Diana.
I'm sure Camilla coddles Charles every night to get him to go to sleep.
04:44 PM on 08/28/2011
pitiful
04:52 PM on 08/28/2011
I'm sure the boy's have only 'taken' to her for the public's sake...they probably despise her like everyone else does!
05:02 PM on 08/28/2011
As should the boys with the queen and her husband. Yes, they're grandparents, but any affection for the Queen and Prince Philip is limited I'm sure. They both had great disdain for Diana....how could those boys who so clearly loved their mother have affection for anyone who was mean or hated their mother?

By every indication, every, Their Royal Highnesses adore their father's second wife. They barely knew their mother, who was around gallivanting, and appearing in public in order to attract publicity at every turn, They were left with governesses. The Duchess of Cornwall pays attention to them as she paid to her children and she pays to her husband, That is why the Prince of Wales said: " Camilla is non-negotiable."

I can tell you easily enough...NOTHING. Lets understand...Diana was just another girl who married so called "royalty" and people made more of her than was there. Even after the wedding and after the divorce...she didnt do anything of substance...she was just news fodder. Then she died in a car wreck. Too bad for her sons, but overall...again..NOTHING.

Diana wasn't just another girl, she was from the rival Spencer family, wealthy and every bit as aristocratic as Charles. The Royal family picked Diana because she was aristocratic, young and had no scandalous history - and they certainly didn't suspect that she would have turned out as strong-willed as she did.

Diana was the first celebrity to openly embrace AIDS patients, and change people's fears and perceptions. She also dedicated her time to a number of other charity causes - she wasn't just some party-hopper.

The Royal family did make the right choice in the sense of how popular she became, but her popularity eclipsed that of Charles, plus their marriage was a sham.

People were interested in her story because she was in the news since she was 19 and became the most photographed woman in the world at that time.

A real shame the story ended the way it did.
