Obama Delivers Statement On Hurricane Irene (VIDEO)

President Obama will make a statement on Sunday about Hurricane Irene.

From CNN:

The president is expected to thank emergency responders for their work during the storm and provide an update on conditions, a senior administration official said.

He'll urge people "to continue to be vigilant," the official said.

The official added that "some in the Northeast still have a dangerous tropical storm to deal with. Other hazards like inland flooding and downed power lines are out there. We're not out of the woods just yet. And, we still have a big clean-up job ahead."

Irene, which was downgraded to a tropical storm, ripped through the east coast of the U.S. this weekend. The storm left at least 15 dead and caused $7 billion of expected damage.

accautotrainer...I keep reading your links over and over and it still sounds like sour grapes.Keep in mind, I have no use for Bush. We all know that Gore won the popular vote which has nothing to do with the electoral college. I recall Bush offered up to recount the entire state of Florida instead of one county and Gore turned that down. The recounting of hanging chads had to stop at some point and that was the Supremes decision. Now I also recall that the major news agencies(mostly liberal), at their expense, had a recount and the results did not change. When does it all end?

How shameful and disrespectful is this President to accept an invitation to speak at the grand opening of the World Trade Center Mosque.

Does he truly beleive this approach will appease Muslims from attacking the US ?

Our President has opened the door for all to come here and receive benefits with our citizens paying the taxes. I am so frustrated by our inability to do anything about President Obama until the 2012 elections.

Hey mac junior...How does that comment made by GW erase the fact that the local Liberal Democrat Mayor in NOLA and the Liberal Democrat Governor BOTH failed in their duties? First responders should be locals, next should be State, and final resort should be the US Gub-mint. This is the 6th aniversary of Katrina making landfall as a Cat. 3. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the levee breach which caused the disaster. How many more years do we need to wait before the Liberals understand the order of response plans for natural disasters? A little off the subject, but still important is the fact that Obama is now asking his Regime to review the policy on illegals. It is going to be worth watching how he will use his back door policy to allow them to remain in the U.S. without Congressional approval. He has already instructed ICE to not deport illegals that have not committed a crime while in the U.S. Apparently he no longer considers it a crime when they cross the boarder illegally. Obama is beyond contempt for our Constitution and current Federal Laws.

No, you are 100% incorrect. The Congress has only authorized x number of dollars for ICE and the INS, therefore the priority is to get rid of the worse offenders first, which means that the agents and the court judges will be going after the criminals, and the drug sellers (which by the way would not exist if American's stop buying), and the repeat offenders.

Once these are out of the way they can concentrate on those that crossed illegally, but are actually working or doing some good for America, and hopefully, by then we (the Congress) can come to some 'real life' agreements on how to handle the situation that is based on merits and not idiotic hysteria.

Hey mac jr.....That would make sense and possibly work IF the borders were actually closed. They are not. By the time the Obama Gub-mint catches and processes one "worst offender" through the court system, and actually deports that person, thousands of others have already come in ILLEGALLY during that time to take the place of each "worst offender". Junior...try to go into Mexico to work. Mucho paperwork, rules, regulations, and restrictions. Highly and rigidly controlled AND enforced. Been there, done that. We should be using the Mexican immigration laws. Illegal is illegal.
