Georg Friedrich Ferdinand Of Prussia & Sophie Of Isenburg Married (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Another Royal Wedding, German-Style

Germany got into the Royal Wedding spirit on Saturday, as Prince Georg Friedrich Ferdinand of Prussia married Princess Sophie of Isenburg in Potsdam, Germany.

The prince is the great-great-grandson of Kaiser Wilhelm II, who was the last King of Prussia and by extension, the last German Emperor. As AP reported, he abdicated the throne during World War I in 1918. The German monarchy ceased to exist thereafter.

Yet the aristocratic titles are still around, if just legally. The Wall Street Journal writes that the prince and princess are not technically royal but rather private citizens of the Federal Republic, with the noble titles simply part of their legal names.

In fact, Prince Georg Friedrich Ferdinand of Prussia and Princess Sophie of Isenburg are working consultants, he for academics, she for nonprofits.

Still, the prince and the princess still managed to have what looked like a positively royal weekend. For Saturday's religious ceremony, the bride wore a multilayered white gown by Wolfgang Joop and a tiara (natch), while the groom looked quite dapper in tails and a top hat.

As for the couple's well-heeled guests... well, there were some hits and there were some major misses.
