Gwyneth Paltrow Ditches Her Makeup For A Book Reading (PHOTOS)

Gwyneth Paltrow has proved herself a member of that rare Hollywood breed, the kind that still manage to look gorgeous and youthful sans any trace of makeup.

So the actress showed off her unvarnished visage at a reading and signing of her cookbook "My Father's Daughter" at a local East Hampton bookstore on Saturday, just hours before Hurricane Irene hit, the New York Daily News reported.

We have to extend major kudos to Gwyneth for stepping out without a drop of makeup, a bold move for a celebrity who's hounded by paparazzi everywhere she goes.

But then, the 38-year old also recently stated that she's against plastic surgery (well, with the exception of boob jobs) so it's not too surprising to see the star step out with her own face intact.

We give Gwyneth an A+ for going au naturale. What do you think: does Gwyneth pull off the bare-faced look?

She looks nice...but when you've got acne scars, uneven skin and no eyebrows..a bit of mac foundation, Maybeline mascara and some bumble bee lip balm can go a long way girls!! OKAYYYY!

She doesn't have any acne scars, she's got sunspots (aka "freckles"). When people are young, they're considered "cute" and "fresh faced". Gwyneth Paltrow is beautiful. She is tall, thin, well shaped and exudes confidence with her delicate features. However, if she continues to spend a good amount of time on the beach, even if she wears the best SPF out there, the sun WILL wear on her skin. But I guess she can afford peels and botox so, I'm sure she'll be fine. She is clearly wearing mascara since she has light eyelashes. No eyebrow's is "in" people have you not heard? :D

Frig! She looks better than me when I wear makeup and I am in my twenties. I think I prefer it when they are photoshopped because at least then I can just tell myself that they were in fact photoshopped, and look far worse in real life.

I say that I do not wear makeup and I will wear rosebud salve and a little bronzer....I think that they are referring to teh fact that she is not professionally airbrushed the way that she would for a red carpet event.

Here's a "secret," : Most men aren't attracted to make-up. If we were, we too would be spending all our time and money trying to look anything like we really do. Nope, don't say you do it for us ~ it just isn't true.
"Oh, you don't like how we (women) "really" look..." Wrong. And how would you (or we) even know. Makeup is a hobby, an affectation, an activity in itself. But we really just don't 'get it'... What's the point? The phrase, "I have to put on my face," is confusing and unsettling to us.
Spackle, paint and plaster are for houses.

Although you sound like you think you "know" everything about women and have just a tad of hostility, you probably don't realize that "most" women wear a certain amount of subtle makeup and you can't really tell with the ones who do it correctly.

Sorry about this, But you are right! The one interesting picture she made was with Michael Douglas, and he made it interesting. Paltrow, in a movie, is about as exciting as celery.
