Lady Gaga Marrying? Bookies Start Their Bets
Between her "born this way" PSA-delivering and her gender-bending dressing, Lady Gaga rarely feels the need to talk about her personal life.
But it has come to the attention of several media outlets that the pop star may be close to marrying her on-again/off-again boyfriend, Luc Carl.
And thus, reports Women's Wear Daily, the betting has begun.
Bookmaker Paddy Power has created two bets, one asking "What will Lady Gaga's dress be made of?" and another for the designer of Lady Gaga's wedding dress. While we have our own opinions (white lace and plastic, Nicola Formichetti), betters have so far placed their money on Gaga's sister and up-and-coming, Natali Germanotta, as the 13-8 favorite.
More industry-friendly names include Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen (20-1 odds), Gareth Pugh (5-1), Donatella Versace (8-1) and our fave, Nicola Formichetti (7-4).
As for materials, it's hard to predict the convention-defying singer (who made a sartorial 180 at last night's VMAs by wearing a simple black Brooks Brothers suit). But bookies have put money on, among other things, balloons (3-1), lace (our personal choice, at 10-1 odds) and, because it had to be done, meat (16-1).
We're just hoping she doesn't douse whatever gown she chooses in her signature blood-and-semen fragrance. That would make for a less than pleasant alter experience.
