Talk about staying in character!
Lady Gaga isn't the talk of the 2011 VMAs -- her alter ego Jo Calderone is.
Gaga-as-Calderone open the show with "You and I," but apparently the singer decided to stay in character throughout the entire show, as well as backstage. And it wasn't just a wig and makeup that helped Gaga embody Calderone -- she reportedly wore a prosthetic penis throughout the night, according to Us Weekly.
Gaga walked away with two moon men at Sunday's VMAs -- Best Female Video and Best Video With a Message, both for "Born This Way -- and Calderone accepted the awards for her.
"You know, I think that this award means more to her than anything she's ever received," he told MTV backstage. "She was texting me after the award, after I picked it up for her, and she just said, 'You know, more than anything I've ever gotten before, this means more to me, because "Born This Way" is about the fans and the fans are more important to me than anything I do; more important than f---ing breathing, you know?'
