Nancy Pelosi, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, will be speaking in Denver and Boulder Tuesday.
In Denver, Pelosi will be speaking about women in business, the struggling economy and her ideas for recovery, according to Northern Colorado 5. Pelosi will be joined by U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette, who represents Denver County. The two Democrats will be speaking to several dozen female business leaders. The event is closed to the public.
Later on Tuesday, Pelosi will be the special guest speaker at a private Democrat fundraiser hosted by U.S. Rep. Jared Polis at the home of Dan Friedlander and Diane Rosenthal in Boulder, according to Act Blue.
The Daily Camera reports that Pelosi is scheduled to attend the reception at 4:30 p.m., on Tuesday.
To make a donation or purchase a ticket for the Boulder fundraising event, go to Act Blue's website for more information. Guests are asked to contribute $100, $250 or $1,000 to the Jared Polis Majority Fund 2012.
On Friday, Pelosi made a statement about Women's Equality Day, Aug. 26 -- a day that commemorates women obtaining the right to vote on an equal basis to men -- and spoke about the importance of strong women in the workforce in a press release:
With women comprising half of the workforce and leading our economy as business owners, we know that advancing women's empowerment today means focusing on the top priority of all Americans: job creation. We must strengthen women workers and entrepreneurs, expand our middle class and ensure the economic security of our families. In reaching for that goal, Congress can build on the legacy of Women's Equality Day, advance the cause of equality and opportunity, and make our nation stronger.
