Back at the beginning of August, Warner Bros. released the first photo of Henry Cavill as Superman, an oddly zoomed out shot that did little to reveal much about his costume. Word, though, was that it was undergoing some massive changes from its iconic look, and some fan photos taken from the film's set bear out that speculation.
Posted to the Man of Steel Facebook Page, two shots of Cavill's Superman show that he no longer has the traditional red underwear-type tights, trading them in for a full blue bodysuit. It's the same move made by the revamped comic. The photos all show him lacking a cape, though other photos on the site reveal that he does at times wear one, leading some to believe that it's detachable.
It's all very tricky stuff.
Earlier photos from the set revealed an entire town converted to act as Smallville, Clark Kent's adoptive home, and a few showed Amy Adams -- who plays Lois Lane -- on set at a 7-11 gas station.
As for the rest of the cast, Julia Ormond will play Superman's Kryptonian birth mother Lara Lor-Van, Russell Crowe will be his Kryptonian dad Jor-El, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane will take on Pa and Ma Kent, and Michael Shannon will play the role of baddie General Zod. Laurence Fishburn takes on Daily Planet editor in chief Perry White, while Christopher Meloni is Col. Hardy and Harry Lennix is General Swanwick.
