'Bachelor Pad': Vienna Girardi Talks Jake, Kasey and Reality TV Future
Vienna Girardi first landed on Hollywood’s radar thanks to her leap into love as a contestant on ABC’s “The Bachelor” in 2010. At first, everything seemed to be working out for her -- she even won Jake Pavelka’s heart and the two became engaged.
But, as we all saw on ABC’s breakup special, the couple has since split. However, Girardi isn't finished with reality TV just yet. She’s currently a contestant on the second season of ABC’s “Bachelor Pad” and this time, Girardi’s not in it for love -- she's there for the money.
“I said no at first,” she told The Huffington Post about appearing on “Bachelor Pad,” adding that it wasn’t until the producers approached her and current boyfriend, “The Bachelorette 6” contestant Kasey Kahl, about appearing on the show together that she agreed, on one condition.
“They told me Jake wouldn’t be there,” she said, but that obviously wasn’t what ABC had in mind. “They clued me in a few days before we started filming, but by that point I was all packed and ready to [do the show].”
Pavelka was indeed a contestant on the reality show until -- spoiler alert! -- he was voted off during the August 22 episode.
“It was more heightened for the viewers,” she said of the intense rose ceremony between Kasey and Jake. “Everyone knew by that point that Jake was going home.”
Girardi admits that having Pavelka in the house was “uncomfortable” but that she and Kahl had a great time filming and are friends with many of their former “Bachelor Pad” housemates. In fact, it was cast member Erica Rose that helped Girardi take the plunge into plastic surgery.
“It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while,” Girardi said of her new nose, adding that she talked about it with Rose while filming the show together. “A week later, I was in Texas” to have the procedure done, she said.
Girardi debuted her new nose in August, but don’t think she will be going back under the knife anytime soon.
“No, I’m done,” she said, adding that getting a nose job was the only thing she wanted to change about herself.
As for Girardi and Kahl, viewers still don’t know how far the power couple makes it in the game -- they are competing for $250,000 -- but things are definitely moving fast for them on the homefront. The couple recently moved in together, but should the day come that Kahl gets down on bended knee, don’t expect to see the moment captured on camera.
“I had said I didn’t want him to propose on the show,” she said when asked about a scene showing Kahl giving her a promise ring. At first, Girardi thought he was going to give her an engagement ring, and she was less than pleased. “When we get engaged, I want it to be our moment.”
Though we won’t see Girardi get engaged on TV for the second time, she and Kahl haven’t ruled out returning to the reality TV realm themselves. So, could a Vienna-Kasey show be in the works?
“We’ve talked about it,” she said regarding appearing on reality TV after “Bachelor Pad.” “We’re not against it.”
They aren’t the only former “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” contestants mulling over their future reality plans. Pavelka told Ryan Seacrest that he’d consider appearing on “The Bachelor” for a second time, "but not right away."
His idea about returning to “The Bachelor” doesn’t surprise Girardi.
“That would be his, what, ninth reality show?,” she said, exaggerating, but making the point that Pavelka has appeared on a long list of reality shows, including “The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette,” “Dancing With The Stars,” “Famous Food,” and, now, “Bachelor Pad.”
So would Girardi tune in should Pavelka wind up handing out roses yet again on “The Bachelor”?
“Absolutely not.”
