Abigal Breslin Stars In "Janie Jones"; Breslin Plays Lead In Indie Drama

To us, she may always be the pudgy-faced kid in "Little Miss Sunshine," but Abigail Breslin has more adult plans.

Following her role in "Zombieland," a decidedly grown up Breslin is now staring in the heartwarming indie film, "Janie Jones."

Here she plays Janie, a 13-year old girl who is dropped off with her estranged rocker father (Alessandro Nivola) when her mother, (Elisabeth Shue) checks into rehab.

At first, her father denied that the child was his but when she reveals her musical gifts, their connection is far deeper than they realized.

Written and directed by David M. Rosenthal, Tribeca Films is releasing the film on October 28th.

Your remark reminds me of the recent Corey Feldman interview in which he speaks of the rampant pedophilia in the Hollywood studios and related casting businesses. In fact, Feldman said his friend, Corey Haim, committed suicide over such abuse by a major studio executive. I wonder if when Elton John sang "Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids...." he meant Hollywood.

She's always great to watch. Abigail Breslin seems genuinely sweet.

And Alessandro Nivola can act in "Mansfield Park" as an Englishman, "Coco Before Chanel" as an Englishman romancing Audrey Tautau in French, and now he's a scruffy rocker dad ?!

She's wonderful. I've enjoyed all the movies I've seen her in specifically for her performance.

If she avoids the Lohan path she should enjoy a long, successful career in Hollywood.

'Hollywood' movies have been such a profound, depressing disappointment this year that perhaps some decent indi films might be able to save the industry for total humiliation. Really, they should'a closed theatres for showing 'Hangover 2', 'Green Lantern' and 'Drive Andry 3-D'.
