I think our Black Executive Managers and Diversity officers should get off their behinds and not be so scared to hire someone that looks like them and is qualified for the roles. You have so many willing to post their faces all over the internet but they won't lift a finger to hire anyone that looks like then because either they don't have the power, scared someone will take their job or are using old stereotypes about "themselves" thus not to look bad if their hire doesn't work out. White people never think this way! They will hire their neighbors wife if they get a chance to help out their own kind (that is why their unemployment rate is so low). We can stop this garbage but we are so comfortable being mediocre that nothing else matters. You haven't arrived if you don't do anything for the future! We have got to move forward people!!!!

The unemployment rate is hitting all walks of life hard. Regardless of race, creed or color. 14,000,000 Americans need work and even more need better jobs. Regulation needs to be lessoned so that new businesses can enter the market and begin hiring.

Unemployment has truly been a problem since 2000 and hit really high water marks in late 2003. In 2007 / 2008 it started to take a dive again. Unfortunately, people who are generally less educated took the greatest hit in the early 2000's and more educated people took a pretty big hit after the problems of 2008. There is no lack of information indication this disporportionaly hit blacks, particularly males and latino/as.

I find it less than honest when people ascribe the entire failure to the Obama administration. They were not in charge in 2000, 2003 or 2008. The fact is this is a problem more than a decade in the making. Let's be very clear about that. (nn)

And the overall unemployment rate is the highest it has been since 1983. So this is not at all surprising.
Why try to make it a racial issue? EVERYONE is getting a sh%tty deal. Every one of us.
Making it a racial issue only serves one purpose: To divide us, and pit us against one another in order to stop any of us uniting together against the powers that are 1) the true cause of our misery and 2) who are doing nothing to alleviate the problem.
Do not be fooled by this nonsense.

Until black people come together as a race and help each other and share their knowlwdge and aspirations with each other, the unemployment rate will always remain the highest. Other races know how to work together and accomplish what is necessary to survive. Selfishness has to be replaced by selflessness and caring before the black race gets out of the bottom of the barrel.

I believe this too! We won't lift a finger to help each other. We buy into negative stereotypes of ourselves put out there by the media. People need to remember that one person can change the lives of many! Hire someone that looks like you and is qualified. Don't be scared....man up and make a difference!

You can blame this on Welfare Statism,and Minimun Wage laws........when teenagers enter the workforce they are unskilled......when you as a business owner are faced with hireing a pimple faced teen,or a 30 year old who has worked for 15 years for $7.25.....do the math......these kids get pushed out of the workforce then fall into poverty welfare statism......then they become unemployable adults.....since Obama has been in office....he has redistributed more money than any other statist.......he does it with taxes,regulation,and collectivism.....the result....a hidious economy and black/teen unemployment at all time highs...the more Socialism....the more poverty...........the best case scenario is living like France......you have a poverty retirerment waiting for you......free healthcare and other goodies.......at the low cost of 1/2 of your pitiful $20,000 a year job

We had one African American female programmer on our team at Microsoft, then management decided we needed to only hire from vendors in India. The first thing our lively Indian vendor InfoSys did was fire the non-Indian vendors. So we lost a promising African American female. Now our staff is almost entirely Indian.

And do you EVER hear African American political leaders talk about H-1b work visa fraud? Nope! Never.

The Black unemployment rate is planned. Why else would these highly educated men do such stupid things that any thinking person knows will hurt the Black community? Example: illegal immigration taking unskilled jobs, repressive regulations that stop factories from opening, and sending children to failing schools so that they don't have the skills to compete in a global economy. You can't go to Yale, Oxford, MIT, Harvard etc, and not know that these are stupid ideas that only hurt, not help, Black folks and Americans in general.

And yet the NAACP and black leaders are beating the drums for the illegals to have the "right" to stay in our country, get work permits and green cards and take more jobs from the legal immigrants and citizens. I just don't get it - why are they shooting themselves in the foot?
