Writers Talk About Their Other Jobs (VIDEO)

Digital publisher Open Road Integrated Media has put together a short video about how writers put food on the table when writing doesn't pay the bills.

The video features footage of writers Lawrence Block, John Lutz, Andre Dubus III (speaking about his father), Mary Glickman, Don Winslow, Kevin O’Brien, and M. William Phelps, all talking about the jobs they held before they became full-time writers.

We really like it. Happy Labor Day, everyone!

call me old fashioned but I liked having a book to hold in my hands, to smell the pages to visualize everything like a movie in my head.

Can anyone explain the technical disaster that is now happening on HP under the new management? Nothing I do to post back to people is working? Other posts don't show up for days. Moderating is something out of Berlin 1934. Links to content vanish. Does anyone know WTF is going on? Has this site been hacked?

when i click on things people have responded to in my posts ... a black transparent shield come ups on the screen and no words appear. I know it's not my computer and instead of the damn badges they need to fix a multitude of things. no way to contact them either. F & F

Lisa Scottoline put a webcam up at her computer desk to show what the life of an actual writer is like: it was a lot of sitting there staring at the screen, with occasional bursts of typing and scarfing down M&Ms.

Its called bait and switch, tease the reader to read an article which probably isn't all that interesting, local news casts do it all the time.
