I'm TOTALLY not impressed. One African-American per every other network show doesn't cut it for me... And I'm white.
Asians? Indians? Hello!
Its 2011... This is pathetic.
Characters with substance, character, dimension that push the stories along rather than window dressing is what we need. Huff Post, you're bluffing.

How in the world are we ever going to reduce racism in this country when we are constantly bombarded with expressions like Black Voices, Black Entertainers, Black Faces, Black this, Black that, etc. Show me an article that says White Voices, White Entertainers, etc. We need to stop referring to people as Black, or White, or Latino, or Hispanic, or anything else. We are human beings! Everyone should lean toward a color neutral bias - and to not do so helps promote racism. Don't you agree?

The answer to your question for me is no. There is nothing wrong with people being recognized for the good things they do. We live in a racially divided country, that's the way the owners of this country set things up. They own the media that keeps the stereo types alive and well. It would be nice if we could one day live like you suggest but as long as poor white folks think that they are accepted by rich whites it ain't going to happen.

Unlevelheaded...

The reason this is up is because of my statement.. the stories are not told, and when they are, it comes in the form of a dress and a guy in makeup (Madea,.. never seen it..). Oh... and fourth fiddle players.. read up a little before they allow you a keyboard..

Here are three superb African-American and Hispanic actors who you won't see this fall, because Eureka has been cancelled: Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Joe Morton, Erica Cerra, and Tembi Locke. Eureka has been a great show with African-Americans cast as scientists, medical doctors, heads of departments, inventors, and local mayors (Joe Morton plays a scientist/mayor/car repair expert!) It's really a shame that these great actors in great roles haven't been noticed or acknowledged for their work.

Rashida Jones and Maya Rudolph so don't count. Most people can't even tell they're Black...

Really? Why because they are half-white? Remember this: You ARE what your father is. Ever hear of that? I guess Barack Obama doesn't "count" either huh?
08:57 AM on 09/21/2011
It was a joke...even I, being Black, was a little shocked to find out those 2 were partly Black...especially Maya Rudolph because I had seen her on SNL for years.

And no, you are not what your father is. If that was the case Maya would be considered White... you're contradicting yourself. You are what you identify as. Obama is considered Black because thats what he calls himself so I'll respect that. Its as simple as that.

I'll be more excited if I can get a guarantee that none will die off after their first season.

Way to bring me down to earth with a thud! Was so excited by all the faces, but yes I should hold on to my excitement until the 2/3 season ... :(

Thank you! Precisely what i'm talking about..

I remember watching a Stallone movie (heavens forfend!) in the 90s about the Lincoln Tunnel takeover... the one sparing brother was killed off quick.
