Dick Cheney: Hillary Clinton As President Would Have Made Different U.S.

Dick Cheney Hillary Clinton

WASHINGTON, Associated Press

Hillary Rodham Clinton isn't president, but Dick Cheney says that if she were in the White House rather than Barack Obama, then things might be different today in the country.

Cheney isn't getting into specifics, but he does think that "perhaps she might have been easier for some of us who are critics of the president to work with."

The former vice president tells "Fox News Sunday" that it's his sense that the secretary of state is "one of the more competent members" of the Obama administration and it would be "interesting to speculate" about how she would have performed as president.

Clinton lost the 2008 Democratic nomination to Obama, who went on to beat Republican John McCain in the general election. Obama named Clinton as the country's top diplomat.

It would be a different U.S. only in the respect that teabaggers would be freaking out about gender instead of color. The intellect and reason that is Secretary of State Clinton wouldn't please them any more than the intellect and reason that is president Obama... those are qualities they fear and don't understand.

She's not only the best on the Democratic side, but when you look at the mediocre talent on the Republican side, she's the best there as well.
There's not doubt that Hillary (with Bill at her side), would have made the best President and would make the best President.

Yup the country would be different if Hillary was elected. At the same time....The Country would of been in a much better place if You and George didn't get anywhere near the White House. What a Colossal set back that was. You are Not missed

Sure it would have made a difference, while some would have resented her for being a woman, she is a white woman..........

I would like to see Mrs Clinton run for President in 2016! After 8 years, the mud the Republicans were ready to throw at her in 2008 will not be as likely to stick. She has done a great job!

Obama 2012!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I don't think getting "praised" by Dick Cheney is really the kind of praise Hilary Clinton is looking for. I mean if it was me, I'd say, "thanks, I'll pass."

Hillary's one tough cookie. She would have KNOWN what she wanted in the health care bill and it would have essentially ended up her way - and a much better bill is what we would have seen. Pelosi & Reid would have had to pay homage rather than run the show. She'da been better, I think, than Obama by a long shot.

"She would have KNOWN what she wanted in the health care bill and it would have essentially ended up her way ..."

A great woman, but we already did that dance in '92 - '93, and it didn't end of 'her way'.

Al Gore as president would have made a different U.S.; one that would have led us firmly into the twenty-first century, especially in the areas of the environment, energy and transportation. Imagine how much more progressive and wealthy this country would have been without the Bush/Cheney presidency that has sent us spiraling back in the direction of the nineteenth century where robber barons, without the laws to control them, ruled supreme.

Being black, educated and intelligent in this country is a dangerous mix. There are those out there among us who have been raised and taught to believe that a black person can never be better than they are; these people form the base of the teabagger movement with their cries of 'taking back our country'. The thought of a black person not only better educated than them but also being President absolutely drives them crazy. These people are suffering from a huge inferiority complex.

"easier for some of us who are critics of the president to work with" = we like the color of her skin better, even if she doesn't have a penis.

lmao ! ! ! You really hit the nail on the head with THAT one ! ! ! That's what it comes down to. There are segments of society who simply WILL NOT accept Black people. NEVER ! ! ! That becomes a serious problem when it comes to upper levels of business & politics. A sad but true FACT OF LIFE. And there are STILL people who REFUSE to acknowlege how that affects African Americans on a DAILY BASIS, in EVERY facet of life: housing, jobs and education.

You get an "A+" in "REALITY CHECK 101" ! ! !

"easier for some of us who are critics of the president to work with"

Is Cheney trying to say that Hillary would have been a 'push-over'?
