Lanvin Perfume Advertisement, 1953: A Look Back

A Look Back: Lanvin Fragrance Advertisment, 1953

"A Look Back" is a daily column that highlights a moment from fashion's fabulous past. Today's pick is a 1953 illustrated perfume ad from French fashion house Lanvin. Jeanne Lanvin founded the clothing brand in 1909 and launched her first fragrance in 1924. "Arpège" and "My Sin" both mentioned in this ad, were launched later in the 1920s. The current creative director of Lanvin, Alber Elbaz, is known for his artful illustrations, but features models like Karen Elson, Raquel Zimmermann and Jamie Bochert in his ads. Maybe he will be inspired by this blast from the past? advertisement
