SAN FRANCISCO -- A federal grand jury in San Francisco has charged a San Antonio man with harassing a high-ranking Google executive with more than 20,000 Twitter posts, some of which were threatening.

According to court records, Gregory Calvin King was arrested in Texas last month and transported to San Francisco to face charges he threatened Google vice president Marissa Mayer, the company's first female engineer.

The indictment identified the alleged victim only as "M.M." but King's Twitter account shows him sending thousands of threatening posts to Mayer.

King faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. His arraignment date hasn't been set.

Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A gorgeous, geeky, tech executive who helped found Google gets 20,000 tweets. That's all? I can't believe she doesn't have fanboys camped outside her home and office. In the modern world, she is the pinnacle.

I guess that excessive. On second thought she more than likely caused this whole problem. I hope she goes to jail.

Great strategy, bro. There's no way that a powerful executive at one of the most technically elite corporations in the history of man will be able to tract you down. Really...you've got nothing to worry about.

Google gets huge goodwill with its employees if they PR this guy into a max sentence.

20,000 tweets - my word - how long was he doing this. I would have thought that after 500 or so - he would have been arrested. They waited until he had tweeted her 20,000 times. wow!!!!!

Guys like him do 20,000 tweets in a week, I have a sister who's cute and blonde like this woman and I've had to talk to more then one guy about inappropriate numbers of emails or text messages or whatever. Some guys just have serious mommy issues and take it out on whatever woman they happen to end up obsessed with.

What is it with this culture of threats? Okay, I know the Bush Administration spent 8 years threatening all of us, but is that any excuse? Everyone knows that punishment for actions is always less than punishment for threats. Walk softly and carry a big stick. Never threaten.
