Chick Beer, Yet Another Beer Targeted At Women

Ugh. More Beer Targeted At Women

We wish we could be snarky and critical about Chick Beer, the newest attempt to market alcohol to women. After all, we've previously decried all this light beer/low calorie/fancy packaging nonsense seen in products such as perfume-inspired wine, a beer that "needs no makeup" and a beer from Molson Coors that offers women a "less gassy" product. But we're just too tired to rehash the argument about how some women actually like to drink real beer.

The Chick Beer website explains:

Chick Beer finally gives women a beer choice that suits their tastes and their style. The bottle is designed to reflect the beautiful shape of a woman in a little black dress. The six-pack looks like you are carrying your beer in a hip stylish, purse. Chick's unique reflective bottle blings you up! It's fun, fabulous, and female!

The beer has 97 calories and 3.5 carbs per bottle. Five percent of the profits will go to charities that empower women. We can get behind that mission, but that's sadly not enough of an enticement to get us to try this beer.
