Sarah Jessica Parker Is Tired Of Talking Shoes, Loves Minivans (VIDEO)

It's hard to imagine Sarah Jessica Parker's well-heeled "Sex and the City" heroine in a decidedly unstylish minivan (well, even more so considering Carrie didn't drive).

But when the actress appeared on "Nightline" last night to promote "I Don't Know How She Does It," she advised Katie Couric to "respect the van":

My mother is a huge Honda fan... so I called up Bronx Honda, because my mother told me to, and we got ourselves a minivan. I'm telling you, it's the most wonderful car.

Ms. Bradshaw, of course, would be much more given to touting the merits of Manolos. But it seems that's the one topic of which Parker's grown weary. "I get tired of talking about, 'Well, you must love shoes,'" she admitted to Couric.

However that's not to say the actress has lost interest in all things fashion. Parker's empire has grown to include three fragrances and until recently, she was heading up Halston Heritage.

Sarah Jessica's also perpetually known for taking red carpet risks, such as when she channeled Little Red Riding Hood at her new movie's premiere last week.

Parker is still happy to be linked with her sartorially obsessed alter ego, telling ABC, "Talking about Carrie Bradshaw is still the thrill. If that is the association, if that is the identity, I'm very proud of it."

Ahhhh, yes Carrie does drive. She drove the girls to their friends (and ex wild child) baby shower in CT. Look at the episode, when they pull up to the house in suburbia, Carrie is at the wheel.

Once upon a time I drove Ford E-150 long wheelbase vans and was immensely pleased with them. Once you get used to having a van you don't want a car.......Unless it's a Bugatti Veyron.

Also agree, had one from the day the first went on the market. It is a must for a family. Big enough to haul most things, small enough to easily handle.

It is really "dishonest" for a working actress/wife/mom to present herself as, well, a working actress/wife/mom? No matter how much money she makes for her various roles in life, she is still, in fact quite busy. Hence "working." Are you one of those people who'd call SJP "Carrie" were you to meet her on the street? Seems like the comment about how self-absorbed a bunch of TV/Movie CHARACTERS are has gotten confused in some people's minds with the real women who play the ROLES. And, P.S., some of us like a little escapist entertainment during these all to bleak and dire political and financial times we live in. I don't need my make-believe to be that real. I've got enough REAL going on every day, thanks. If you're opposed to fantasy, lest you forgot for one blessed second your hard-knocks reality, HuffPo's entertainment section is probably not the place for you.
