Nyjer Morgan Calls Albert Pujols 'Alberta,' 'She' In Twitter Rant After Cardinals-Brewers Game

Milwaukee's Nyjer Morgan took to Twitter on Wednesday night to rip Albert Pujols and the St. Louis Cardinals after getting ejected from the game.

Baseball fans have grown accustomed to the eccentric behavior of Milwaukee's Nyjer Morgan over the last few seasons. Whether he's getting into fights, giving bizarre postgame interviews as his alter ego T-Plush or forgetting what inning it is in close games, Morgan has often ended up the center of attention -- for better or worse.

Wednesday night was no different.

After striking out to open the ninth inning, Morgan began jawing at Cardinals pitcher Chris Carpenter as he made his way back to the visitor's dugout. Whether instigated by a remark from Carpenter or just frustrated by the result of his at-bat, Morgan would be ejected before the next batter could see a pitch. Soon enough, Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols came tearing across the diamond as both benches cleared. The Brewers' outfielder was restrained on the field by teammates and the situation was resolved without major incident. Of course, there were no teammates to monitor Morgan after the game when he took to Twitter and ripped the Cardinals, specifically Pujols.

He referred to Pujols as "Alberta" and tweeted, "Wat was she thinking running afta Plush!!! She never been n tha ring!!!"

Morgan then wrote that he hopes that "those crying birds" enjoy watching the Brewers in the playoffs.

After the game, but before that insulting tweet, Pujols told reporters that he "actually" likes Morgan because he "bring a lot of energy to a ballclub."

"But sometimes I think he goes (a little overboard) and tries to put too much energy," the Cardinals' slugger said.

Cardinals manager Tony La Russa also weighed in on the incident after the game.

"He's having a good year for them, he's a talented guy, but he's close to the edge as far as creating problems and trouble," he said. "It takes away from the player that he's been for them or wherever he's been with his fuse being so short and actually looking for things to instigate. So, I hope he gets a clue."

Speaking of rings, T-Flush, you and albert should compare world series champions rings, since that's all that matters.

Looking at the past few weeks, it appears that the crew is falling victim to the laws of averages. Better luck next year, crew.

Albert Pujols = Class.
Do we even have to say what a guy who calls himself "T-Plush" equals?

God forbid anyone bust on saint Albert, who has become 1/2 the player he was before drug testing became a part of MLB. I don'r care one way or the other about Morgan, but he is right, he will be in the playoffs.

Baseball began its current performance-enhancing drug testing program in 2004. From 2004-2011, Albert Pujols has averaged 41 HRs, 118 RBIs, 94 Walks, and only 59 strikeouts per season. His Batting Average over that timespan has been .327, his on-base percentage has been .425, and his slugging percentage has been .621. He has won 3 NL MVP awards in that timespan and has placed in the Top 10 in MVP voting every year of his career and in the Top 3 in eight of those ten seasons.

And even this year, in which his performance is decidedly a little cooler than it has ever been in his career, he's still got 35 Home Runs, and is likely to finish with more than 100 RBIs and a .300 BA, for the ELEVENTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR. No other baseball player in history has ever done that. Gehrig came the closest, going nine straight years of .300/30/100, which he did in the middle of his career. El Hombre has been doing it since his rookie season.

Get a clue about baseball statistics before you make yourself look any dumber.

Some body read me the title and I thought that it sounded like the worst injury I ever heard of. I mean ripping your Pujol. Ouch. It sounds like something that would happen on a road trip to San Francisco.

He strikes out AND talks smack. Son, you gots it all wronged.

Why don't the Cardinals worry about more important things, like, lighting conspiracies and the unfair shadows of day games (in existence for 100+ years of professional baseball).
10:54 AM on 09/12/2011
why doesnt the crew focus on winning their first world series?
12:37 AM on 09/09/2011
What a bunch of whiney babies in here. Pujols created the whole incident by running across the field.

Oh no look out flamboyant surly black guy!

Whites hate Mayweather or any other black like him for that matter. Any swagger or cockyness by a black man frightens them.

Yes i'm white.

Wow. Howcome nobody told me I mistakenly said "Deer"? That's the slogan for my OTHER favorite team, the lovable losers known as the Milwaukee Bucks.

Obviously, I meant to say "Fear the BEER." Let's go Crew!

While I'm a Cards fan, I have to say that the Brewers are playing some really great baseball this year. It's been a pleasure to watch them and I'll be watching them in the playoffs too.

Nyger Morgan is just one bad actor. He has a slew of suspensions for abusing the players and the umps. He has even flipped the crowd the bird. Tons of ''bizarro world'' stuff abounds. Extreme anger issues. This guy will be a menace once he is done with baseball. His ''madness'' will not mix well with societal norms.

Oh gawd no! Not flipping the crowd the bird?! How will western civilization every live this down?!

If that was all this surly, unpredicatable poor sport was guilty of he would get a pass. Has been suspended numerous times and has caused brawls where BOTH teams came onto the field. Players can get severely injured in that mass hysteria. Read up on him and you will see there is no room for his disruptive antics in sports.

GO BREWERS...I love the energy and "soul" this team brings to a stodgy, stuck in the past game...I agree that Nyjer needs to control his emotions better but baseball would be wiser to embrace him not castigate him in order to reach a diverse, younger society
