Alex Rodriguez Miami Home: Yankees Star's $24 Million Mansion (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

First Posted: 09/ 9/2011 1:15 pm Updated: 04/25/2012 11:41 pm

Alex Rodriguez is apparently taking his talents to South Beach. Well, he's not playing ball in Miami, but he is moving there.

The Yankees slugger, who recently joined teammate Mark Teixiera in a guest appearance in HBO's "Entourage," purchased a new mansion in Miami for $24 million. Per the report, he will be "docking up" with his girlfriend Cameron Diaz.

Earlier this year, the New York Post reported that Rodriguez was leaving his $30,000-a-month rental in New York City and moving into a $6 million apartment because his old home was not "private enough."

Maybe he just wanted a change of scenery this time. Scroll down for photos.

That is so nice. Truth is, I always look at something like this thinking, how many hungry people could have a sandwich if this man didn't need to have more than he needs. Hey, it is his money, not trying to tell him how to spend it but I don't understand why anyone needs a house like that. I bet there are parts of the house he never even goes into.

The headline outside the fold still hasn't been fixed.

Fail again, HP, on back-checking edits.

I thought the real estate bubble had burst! Why did you pay so much for a house made out of old shoe boxes?

Ah, nice to see that Initech rebuilt after Milton set the building on fire.

First of all, there's nothing 'beachy' about the house. It looks like it's on one of the many waterways that surround Miami and Biscayne Bay. Second, having money does not equate to having taste. Third, who's business is any of this besides Cameron and Alex? He earned it fair and square, and if any of you want to bellyache about how much sports stars make, why don't you go to a batting cage and see if you can hit even a 60mph fastball? Or field a scorcher down the 3rd baseline?

Miami, hot, hot, hot, and humid. It looks like the house is close to Miami Beach where Capone used to have his place.
