Viewed as one of the hardest working men in show business, Ryan Seacrest is looking to expand his vast portfolio of media ventures with the hope of taking over digital cable channel VH1 Soul.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the American Idol host-producer along with live entertainment company AEG, is in talks with the Viacom owned company to potentially acquire the channel. Although the deal is reportedly in its preliminary stages, if completed Seacrest's position would serve as a partner and producer with the possibility of some on-air contributions.
For some the move is no surprise. In the past year Seacrest, who also serves as the host of E! News and nationally syndicated radio show 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest,' has considered launching his own network serving as a "music, pop culture and lifestyle oriented" platform.
To date Seacrest has scored television success by producing the Kardashian series franchise and 'Denise Richards: It's Complicated.'
