'Toddlers And Tiaras' Star Eden Wood Hosts Fashion Show With Kelly Bensimon

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 09/13/2011 1:46 pm Updated: 11/13/2011 4:12 am

Six-year-old "Toddlers and Tiaras" alum Eden Wood announced her retirement from the pageant circuit in July, after racking up an impressive 300 wins.

But she promised Barbara Walters she, despite the retirement, had big plans to "do my other things and like, um, doing my career... and probably being a superstar."

Apparently, "doing my career" means participating in New York Fashion Week.

Eden will join "Real Housewives of New York" cast member Kelly Bensimon to co-host the 2012 Cowgirl Riders Debutante Fashion Show presented by children's wear brand Cicciabella this Thursday at New York's Bryant Park Hotel.

According to the press release:

Cicciabella footwear brings major glamour to trendy tots with their newest line of boots for 2012. The Cowgirl Riders line features a collection of comfy boots in vintage western prints, perfect for all tiara-loving debutantes.

Maybe Kelly can impart some of her fashion advice to the little pageant star. For example, "K.I.S.S."

Also, we hear Ms. Bensimon has a teddy bear coat that sounds like an adorable hand-me-down for young Eden.

One thing's for sure: We're glad none of said "trendy tots" will be tarted up as Dolly Parton, or worse, Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman."

I really don't get the trend of pseudo-celebrity that exists now -- it's not just the lack of talent, even fake talent, it's the attention they receive is 100% negative. I've never seen, read or heard anything about anyone who is part of this genre -- the housewives, teen moms, parents of multiples, pageant moms, Jersey Shore drunks, bachelors, etc. that isn't completely disparaging, condescending, jeering or disgusted. Why are so many people so eager to receive this kind of attention?

I'm gonna guess it has to do with the money they get out of it.

This evening I washed my (absolutely beautiful :) 2 1/2 year old grand-daughter's hair w/tear free soap. She loves getting her hair washed by me! She loves playing w/her dolphin and turtle in the tub! She needed a little extra water to clean the sand from the sandbox off and the playdough etc. from her fingernails :) Afterwards, I helped her into comfy pj's and then, while she sat on may lap w/her head on my shoulder, I gently brushed her curly hair w/a soft brush and told her how much I love her. Afterwards, I cut her toenails all while reciting ' this little piggy'. Then my daughter-in-law came and held her while promising bed time stories after a glass of milk -- which her child can bank on being delivered.

What these 'beauty' pageant children endure at the hands of their pedophiliac parents is completely atrocious.

It is not right for an adult to try to live their life vicariously through a child.

Toddlers & Tiara's should be investigated for child abuse.

the mothers are dysfunctional. they were probably the kind of little girls who wished their dolls were alive and have turned their daughters into little dolls.

question, though: what's the difference between suri cruise wearing lipstick and high heels and this little girl doing the same? i would say the mother, but i don't know. not my bag, man.

If they wanted me to visit the Ciccabella website, well mission accomplished. I'm not impressed. Their stuff is tacky and they have that same bedazzled made in China junk at Justice stores.

Try going to kindergarten and learning to read.

How sad that this kid will never get a chance to learn how to play.

I feel that dressing little girls up like adult beauty queens is child abuse and exploits the young child. Girls have enough problems growing up in this society.

The Huffington Post should not give any time to these misguided parents.

I'm already sick of this kid.
