Drunk Airline Passenger Drinks Pint Of Whiskey Before Groping Male Flight Attendant

Drunk Plane Passenger

Katherine Goldberg was flying from South Africa to London in August when she drunkenly assaulted a male crew member on the Virgin flight, a Northwest London court alleges.

The prosecutor in the case spells out the charges, the Telegraph reports:

She proceeded to sexually assault one of the crew members by demanding to have sex with him and grabbing his penis and crotch area. She was believed to have drunk at least 50 centiliters of whisky.

50 centiliters is more than 16 ounces, or a full pint of booze. She's been charged with sexual assault as well as being drunk on an aircraft.

While Goldberg's lawyer is working to secure a formal caution to avoid a full prosecution, he also indicated that a guilty plea may be forthcoming.

Whatever the result of the case, it's hardly the first time a drunken passenger has assaulted a flight attendant. On a flight to London, a drunken American spat on a British Airways crew. A London-bound flight was forced to return to Moscow in August after a drunk female passenger started performing an erotic dance. In June, a drunk Jetstar passenger peed in the aisle of a plane. In May, a British Airways passenger groped a female flight attendant while she served him coffee.

bars have a responsibility to cut off drunk patrons, so shouldn't an airline be held to at least the same standard? if someone becomes aggressive or disrespectful because they've gotten drunk on a plane, it's a shame you can't just send them home in a cab to sleep it off...

Let me just say that as a STRAIGHT male flight attendant, dealing with ANY drunk passenger is a tough situation. Male or female, it does not matter. Sexual harassment is sexual harassment. Male or female, this is inappropriate behavior on and off an aircraft. There is nothing saying that the crew served her the alcohol. A lot of guests come on board the plane already intoxicated, so to point fingers at him for getting her drunk then doing the bait and switch by getting her in trouble for it is beyond me. I don't know any flight attendant who WANTS to deal with any situation that happens on a plane once we get off of our flight, but unfortunately it does happen. I don't know if any of YOU enjoy sitting on a computer typing up a report once you are off the clock, but I certainly do not!

This lady deserves everything she has coming to her. Maybe I am saying this because last night I had a wasted passenger on the flight I was working vomit all over himself and other passengers, so needless to say I am a bit bitter.

BTW, this type of behavior is more common than you think. People behave terribly on flights ALL THE TIME. Drug overdoses, urinating on my jump seat, stealing alcohol and assaulting the crew, I have witnessed this all first hand. The media only covers the situations when they feel like it.

It is illegal to be drunk on an aircraft? You learn something new everyday.

When I got divorced I noticed that a lot of women got very touchy with me. I didn't like it.

Funny, but I thought there was a limit on the number of drinks sold to passengers in flight. Must only be in U.S. I guess.

Why does every story they mention have to do with flights to London? Do you need to be drunk to go there?

One need not be homosexual to find the unwanted touch of a drug addict offensive. Drunks like this 'woman' are drug addicts-singularly smelly and repulsive ones, in my experience. Alcoholics need help and compassion.....but no man should be faulted or thought effeminate because he finds being groped by an odiferous drunken female a disgusting experience.
