Mayor Bloomberg Banishes Larry David From NYC In Curb Your Enthusiasm Finale (VIDEO)

Mayor Bloomberg initially canceled his planned cameo on "Curb Your Enthusiasm"'s season finale, after having received an invitation from President Obama to play golf, The New York Times reports.

Larry David, however, called the mayor and all but begged hizzoner to show up, saying they could shoot the scene a day earlier than planned. Bloomberg relented and squeezed David into his schedule, right before making an appearance on the Daily Show.

The resulting scene features Michael J. Fox, playing himself, speaking at an event to raise money for Parkinson's research. When Larry David unintentionally interrupts and Fox gets upset, the mayor steps up to the podium and officially banishes Larry from Gotham:

The HBO hit comedy, which usually takes place in Los Angeles, filmed its eighth season in New York, where Larry David grew up.

Bloomberg, who loves it when TV shows and films choose to shoot in New York, has appeared before in "Law and Order" and "30 Rock", and was also in "The Adjustment Bureau."

And The Wall Street Journal remembers when Bloomberg filmed a scene years ago for the first “Sex and the City” movie that ended up on the cutting-room floor.

“It turned out that they wanted more sex and less city,” he joked in 2008, adding. “That’s fine. Their loss.”

From just the headline, I now know how that episode ended. I had to change the channel when Bloomberg started speaking. I simply cannot listen to that man speak. His voice makes me ill. I had the same issue with Bush & couldn't change the channel fast enough. There must be a name for this phobia.

Bloomberg, Bush and Obama....
Can't stand them when they start speaking.

"There must be a name for this phobia."

Michael J. Fox tore the roof off the episode. Bravo, McFly!

That was a hilarious episode. I love it when he gave the little boy a sewing machine and the boy sewed a swastika pillow sham for his mother's friend because Larry was doodling it on a magazine cover. That kid is great.

That was incredibly hillarious, too bad it was the last episode for the season.

The best ending since the chef with tourettes, and Suzie's line to Cheryl..

I thought the Bill Buckner cameo was a nice touch, glad he has a sense of humor about the 6th game.

Thats so awesome. I thought he was serious at first when I read the headline and saw the photo. I was also confused as to what Fox had to do with this.

He cried when DSK left for France.

Yes. It was a cry of relief that DSK kept his hands off the Statue of Liberty. She is French, after all....

It's time to kick Bloomberg the hell out of NYC. Put him in prison for rampant abuse of money and power.

You are officially clueless.
11:34 PM on 09/14/2011
no, you are clueless! Bloomberg has done nothing but waste NYC taxpayer money. if he wants to waste money, it should be some of his billions of dollars, not our money!!!!! let's see if he can buy a 4th term just like he did with his 3rd term. fyi, no other mayor in history has ever been allowed to run for a 3rd term, but then again, none of our past mayors have been as rich. MONEY TALKS & RULES ALL, UNFORTUNATELY!

i agree fully!!!
