Elle Fanning Wears Grandma Glasses (PHOTOS, POLL)

Given that she's appeared on magazine covers and attended fashion shows and is generally the most stylish teen we've ever seen, we rarely expect Elle Fanning to take a fashion stumble.

But alas, Elle hit the airport this morning, heading home from her whirlwind New York Fashion Week trip, wearing a floral shorts-and-top combo paired with menswear-inspired brogues, a thick, pearl-dotted sweater and yellowed plastic glasses.

From head to toe, the look was total granny chic.

We previously suggested that Elle's photos for the Marc by Marc Jacobs fall campaign sort of evoked a young Chloe Sevigny. Now we're 100 percent certain that Elle's having a Chloe moment.

Check out the pictures below -- what do you think of the thirteen-year-old's octogenarian outfit?

Quick Poll

Grandma Elle Fanning:

RAD!

BAD.

She's a cute kid. And its funny how aware of she own sense of style she is at such a young age.I think the glasses are cute.

Let his girl be herself. Glasses come in any size, shape and color these days. We can go back to the 'cat eye days of glasses' and I bet all of you would like them. Oh, they were very stylist back then, so the way people dress nowadays, anything goes!

I think she looks like a very pretty 13 year old girl. The glasses are cute, the summer flower outfit is darling and the sweater is very pretty. I think people need to stop picking apart young girls and see them for what they are.....young girls on the road to maturity

What is this child doing out in public in pajamas? If the writer wants to make an issue with what this girl is wearing, it should be her clothes, not her glasses.

they are not pajamas.. its a cute little short outfit.. stop being so nit picky!

What is wrong with her wearing glasses. Seriously. She looks good. There is no such things as "Granny Glasses" only glasses. I think some in the media needs to mature a bit. Next thing you know they will be calling people "4 eyes."

The person who wrote this wretched fluff piece needs to do some research on what constitutes "granny glasses" 'cause them ain't it folks!

When I first read the headline, I thought the kid was wearing the kind of glasses that John Lennon once wore and assumed that another '60s trend was making a comeback. This article must've been written by a college intern with personal fashion biases.

Yeah- they just look vintage-y to me. Very 70's. But certainly not grandma-ish.

Cute as a bug.

I don't mind the glasses. I like the shoes and handbag, even the sweater which is more grandma like than the glasses, but the baby doll pajamas gotta go.

"Grandma Glasses!?" NO! The glasses are a huge design hit for girls her age. I'm a grandma and I'd never think they would look good one me. Check out the tiny decoration on them. Totally designed for teens. "Grandma" my you-know-what.

I totally agree!
