Joshua Robb Can't Return To Parents After Mountain Ordeal

Posted: Updated:

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- An 8-year-old autistic boy who spent more than 24 hours lost and alone in the San Bernardino Mountains will remain in protective custody for now.

Joshua was found in the forest Tuesday, a day after he ran away from school.

Child Protective Services took the boy last month after social workers learned that he had been tethered to a railing outside his home, which was recently foreclosed.

The couple said they tethered Joshua while they were removing belongings from the home so he wouldn't run off.

The next custody hearing is scheduled for Sept. 26.
