'The Muppets' Trailer: 'The Pig With The Froggy Tattoo' Teaser (VIDEO)

First Posted: 09/15/11 01:53 PM ET Updated: 11/15/11 05:12 AM ET

Winter film releases run the gamut, from family friendly-fare to super intense drama.

And then there's the Muppets.

The beloved, classic franchise is storming back from relative dormancy with a fun, slightly meta romp that should make people of all ages plenty thankful this Thanksgiving. To promote the film and reach out to the many demographics they're targeting, the Muppet Studio has been releasing a series of viral videos that have spoofed some of the biggest films of the year.

They've goofed on romantic comedies, mocked "The Hangover," and poked fun at "The Green Lantern" (not that they needed to pile on that particular flop).

Now, they've released "The Pig With The Froggy Tattoo," which plays on the ultra-serious trailer for "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." Amazing what a little fun can do to disarm even a David Fincher epic.

Huh. I'll be darned.

I thought that was a silhouette of Newt Gingrich on the campaign trail after all his peeps left him.

It's not easy being Newt.

Is it my imagination or in the three generations since his immaculate conception out of plush, Has Kermit evolved into something of a Christ figure? He's become an object of veneration. He was even resurrected after his puppeteer's death.
