80s TV Show 'Beauty And The Beast' To Be Revamped For CW

In the 1991 animated classic, "Beauty and the Beast" the shrewd Cogsworth famously said, "If it's not Baroque, don't fix it!"

Sure, he was talking about the architectural style of The Beast's castle, but, for The CW the pun rings true.

Coming off the heels of their other reboot, according to TVLine, the network is working on a reboot of the ’80s cult hit "Beauty and the Beast."

Originaly, the series appeared on CBS from 1987 to 1990 and starred Ron Perlman as the prince-turned-beast and Linda Hamilton as 80s-style Belle (big hair and lots of off the shoulder action).

The CW revamp is said to modernize the tale and include "a procedural twist."(Though, that's already kind of happened.)

Well, when Hollywood is tired of reality shows, they just remake old TV shows. That being said, I wouldn't mind a reboot of either Bewitched or I Dream Of Jeannie..... or Gilligan's Island for that matter...

Belle is one of my favorite Disney characters, because she preferred reading to doing just about anything else. Will CW make their "Beauty" a librarian? Somehow, I doubt it.

I loved the television series and recently started watching the first season again on Netflix. The only actor who could reprise the role of Vincent would be Ron Perlman with his soothing, hypnotizing voice.
