Sports Trends Of The Week: September 12-16

There's just something that feels like home about a Monday morning talking about NFL football at while work or hitting "Reply All" on a Tuesday email to your friends in which you gloat about your tremendous foresight in starting Kenny Britt over Santonio Holmes in your fantasy football league.

At the water cooler, the local watering hole or on Twitter, sports is an evergreen conversation topic. And, whenever sports fans are collectively talking about something, we are also searching for it on the Internet. We're looking for video of Tom Brady's 99-yard touchdown pass to Wes Welker and we're voting on whether we think Tim Tebow should be the starting quarterback in Denver.

All of these conversations and searches ultimatley lead to something, or someone, being designated as a "trending" topic. The fine folks and complex algorithms at Google track all of this information and have a frequently updated Google Trends list available to anyone who wants to know what it is that everyone is talking about.

Each Friday, HuffPost Sports will round up all trending sports topics from the previous working week and recap them for you.

For better and sometimes for worse, here is the week that was.
