Emmys 2011: Kyle Chandler Outstanding Leading Actor In A Drama Award Winner (PHOTO)

Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose.

Critically and fan-beloved "Friday Night Lights" star Kyle Chandler, the so often put-upon Coach Taylor, took home the Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series on Sunday, finishing up his Texas football show with the ultimate win. So often ignored and barely allowed to finish its run, the show the object of great affection and obsession from the TV-savvy, and Chandler's win set the internet alight the moment it happened.

He didn't prepare a speech, but then, wasn't that when he gave his best talks to the Panthers?

I was so pleased that FLN received well deserved recognition Sunday evening. I am still raving about the very last program. When the series ended I felt like I had lost part of my family. All I have now are the DVD's. Guess that is better than nothing. I hope we see Connie in another series very soon.

Progressive View, Connie Britton has another series starting soon with Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, called "American Horror Story" on FX. It is also starring Dylan McDermott, Jessica Lange and Denis O'Hare. I think it starts on October 5th. It is supposed to be a pretty gory haunted house type of show.

Connie Britton should have won, as well as the show's writers and the entire cast. Depiction of the socio-economic spectrum in a small town life is difficult. The writers included teenagers living in the nontraditional families and the additional challenges they faced without making them overly sympathetic, maudlin, or stereotypical. A great show that too many missed. It's their loss.

For drama best actor, Kyle Channing is great in his roll and deserved the win. Steve Buscemi, however lacking leading man looks, has definitely been one of our best character actors for years. Timothy Olyphant, has great leading man looks to the point that his acting talents may be overlooked. He has a diverse body of great rolls (as, of course. does Buscemi). I realize the actors are being judged for a single roll, but it does seem too bad that overall acting abilities must be overlooked, although to be fair, actors like Chandler and Hamm have yet to get more diverse rolls.

He is such a handsome man!! I've had a crush on him since he was on Homefront. I wonder what he's going to do next. Rest assured, I will be watching. I love FNL, and was really bummed when they took it off the major network on Fridays!! I never was able to keep up with it after that, but I'm sorry I didn't make the effort. This may be one show I need to get on DVD and see all the episodes, even though I know how it turns out in the end.

After reading some of the comments: it is amazing that those of us on the right and left agree on how good this show was! This was a show about America in all the towns across the nation on Friday night. It brought back good memories of high school. God only knows what they will replace it with.

So well deserved! I've been a fan of Kyle Chandler's acting skills for a long time. I'm still mystified tho that Friday Nights Lights got canceled. It's kind'a like Firefly on the SyFy channel all over again

Great the coach got the recognition he deserved. I still can't get this brilliant show off my mind.

How real it was to see regular people without large houses, plenty of time on their hands, and never seeming to work to pay rent/mortgages. And the endings didn't always have to be solved in one hour.
