Heidi Klum Emmys 2011 PHOTOS: Hit Or Miss?

Heidi Klum supported "Project Runway" alum Christian Siriano by wearing one of the designer's custom creations on the Emmy red carpet.

The dress had the signature Siriano drama, with bold ruffles and an unexpectedly short hem.

Heidi toned down the rest of the outfit with slicked back hair and simple beauty choices, letting the frock speak for itself.

It was Christian Siriano's second red carpet moment of the night, as "Modern Family" star Sarah Hyland wore a peach gown that she created together with the young designer.

Both dresses are victories for Siriano, who recently went on the defensive via a blog post by his boyfriend, Brad Walsh. Walsh confronted the critics who still harp on Siriano's reality TV past, arguing that Siriano has serious high-fashion credentials -- evidenced, in part, by celebs like Christina Hendricks continually picking Siriano for the red carpet.

Surprisingly, Hendricks chose another designer for her 2011 Emmy look.

But Heidi went with Christian Siriano. So what do you think of her pick: chic or shriek?

The dress isn't that bad but Christian is capable of so much better.

The dress is functional. Standard bustier top found on every wedding dress, combined with a skirt which shows Heidi's (insured for $2 million) legs with ruffles serving as the visual interest focal point. The seat is soft non-wrinking fabric which an attending guest can wear without crushing the decorations -- unless you are a presenter always standing, then a dress must be able to sit without getting rumpled in the car arriving at the red carpet.

It's beautiful. It lloks more appropriate for the Moulin Rouge than the the Emmys, but it is lovely.

I love Christian, but I hate this dress!!...It looks like something my Aunt Roberta wore in the 70's at a Mexican hat dance!!

I think that it is a fun dress, the workmanship to get it to fall in the layers that it does is amazing. I like that Heidi dresses how she feels, she never stays in the box. The look works, the dress, shoes, styling are all right on IIMO.

I don't like this dress but I have seen some of the dresses from his show at fashion week and they are really good. Christian is every bit as good as most other designers.

I think Heidi Klum can pull off wearing just about anything, so I think she makes this dress work.

I kind of hate and love this all at once. I like the bottom because its different- but the top make it seem like a prom dress. If you're going to do something different then go for it. The top looks like its from a completely different dress.

I like the dress, but only on Heidi. Very few people could pull that off. She would look good in anything.
