When the new season of "The Office" premieres this week, it's going to be the first new episode of the post-Michael Scott era.
At the 2011 Primetime Emmys, Ryan Seacrest caught up with Steve Carell -- who is nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series -- and the former NBC star revealed he's definitely looking forward to the new season of the show, even though he's no longer on it.
"Fantastic, I can't wait for this week. It's going to be a big year. I'm very excited about it," Carell said about the show, which premieres Sept. 22 with James Spader joining the cast.
But just because Carell no longer plays Michael Scott doesn't mean he won't often think of the nutty-yet-beloved character.
"Whenever I feel like I'm acting like an idiot in real life, I think, 'Well this is probably something Michael would do.'" he said.
