Jill Zarin, Alex McCord Destroyed After 'Housewives'

Real Housewives Of New York Fired

After Bravo’s decision to fire four original "The Real Housewives of New York" cast members, including Jill Zarin and Alex McCord, both ladies have been left high and dry to deal with their complicated emotions when it comes to the end of their "Housewives" era.

“No matter what anyone tells you of course we all wanted to be asked back,” one of the original cast members tells me. “It’s never nice to get fired not matter what job you do. But to be strung along by your boss week after week, pretending the decision had not yet been finalized is just wrong.”

Both McCord and Zarin received several calls from Bravo executives over the weekend -- including one from executive Andy Cohen who was eager to distance himself from the final decision. However, both reacted very differently to his vague offer that other opportunities could potentially exist for the ladies within the Bravo network.

“Jill is done with them and ready to move on,” an insider tells me. “If she’s not good enough to return to 'Housewives' she has no interest in making returning guest spots on 'Top Chef,' 'Rocco’s Dinner Party' or making a surprise secret appearance in the middle of the Housewife season. [But] Alex had the opposite response and would be happy to continuing working with Bravo in a new capacity.”

Zarin, who is currently visiting her daughter in Nashville, leaves for a cruise to Europe on Thursday and was actually brought to tears after the news of her departure from the series was announced -- but not for the reason you might think.

“The emails, tweets, letters and facebook comments have been great and brought her to tears,” a friend of Zarin’s tells me while friends of McCords tell me she is destroyed by this decision and will do whatever she can to make it right. “Alex and Simon have given their lives to making this show a hit and this is how they are thanked. Not fair.”

Fair or not fair, that's showbiz.

Since they kept Ramona, I will not watch the show anymore.

You are not the only one who has never watched. It sounds like they are a bunch of spoiled bratty women. They wanted to be like the desperate house wives. Never happen, from what I hear.

I think I am the only woman in the world who has never seen any of the "Real Housewives (insert city here) shows." Why do so many watch? Somebody please educate me.

To EDUCATE anyone on "Housewives..." would be an oxymoronic statement.

I wonder why Simon quit working at the hotel. Hope they can make a go of it. I did some research on these women. Not one of them finished college.

Lu Ann put on a few pounds / and is boring with her whacky younger weirdo boyfriend. I worked a few parties where she was an invited guest. She looks better on TV. Shes not nice either.

Did Bravo have cameras rolling during the 'destroyed and crying' part???

Because I'd totally tune in for that.

The fact that anyone watches is a sad commentary on this country. These "housewives" are anything but "real". A "real housewife" would be offended with being associated with this drivel!

You are so. Though it would be nice to have real "housewives" depicted on the show but it seems that gossip and drama is what makes for good tv. Most of these women aren't even housewives and the ones that are are on the verge of divorce or have marital problems due to the show.

I noticed we havent heard anything from Kelly yet! I wonder if she understands what YOU'RE FIRED means!! - But really - I wish they would change their minds about Alex and switch her up with Le Countess the super songstress! What I really love about this is how great things are going for Bethany and for little miss "Im up here and you're down there" and "Nobody cares about you Bethany", Kelly (the burnout), things aren't doing very well at all! She and Jill were so jealous of Bethany and I never saw Bethany do anything to them, and now you can see where their jealousy got them! KARMA LADIES - ITS A BITCH!

Kelly will make up some twisted story and swear that it's a good thing...maybe include lemons and lemonade. I always thought she was "on" something to her inner make it through the day and deal with severe insucurities....I think it's more then going green.
Jill, wow how do you descride a women that acts like she's in high school....her poor stepchildren.
I would have loved to see Alex stay and the "only in her head" countess to go. Alex was sweet and was honest with her emotions...her breaking out in hives showed me she hated the confrontations, good for her. I luv Bethany!
Bring Alex back!

I was watching this documentary type show and the one woman talked about being addicted to ecstacy and the way she acted then and the way she still acts due to brain damage . So I decided to look up ecstacy to find out the side affects and the way people act on it and it was EXACTLY the way Kelly acts. EXACTLY!! right down to the jelly beans and lollypops! Look it up so you can decide for yourself, but if I had to venture a guess....just saying.

I fogot. Who was it that said that to Bethanny? As we could all determine for ourselves. Oh yes miss Kelly of course, she is so out of touch with reality.

I hope they saved their money. Fame is fleeting for talented actors and performers. For no-talent harpies, I can't imagine fame being even that kind.

Boo hoo. Too bad for them.
