Kate Winslet Emmys 2011: 'You Never Stop Needing Your Mom'

WATCH: Kate Winslet: 'You Never Stop Needing Your Mom'

Everyone might be talking about Guy Pearce's racy Emmy Acceptance speech, but here at HuffPost Parents, we were most affected by his costar Kate Winslet's thank yous. During the 2011 Emmy Awards, Winslet won for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Mini-series or Movie for her performance in "Mildred Pierce." She was humble ("Oh, I didn't think I was gonna win anything!"), but what wowed us was her tribute to moms:

"Mildred Pierce was capable of great acts of love as a mother, but she was an extraordinary multi-tasker. And to that end, I actually do have to share this with my mom. It doesn't matter how old you are, or what you do in your life, you never stop needing your mom. And I will never stop needing mine. So thanks, mom."

Any mom who watched all five parts of "Mildred Pierce" might have felt a twinge of pain, wondering how Mildred could get past daughter Veda's insolence. Kate, thanks for reminding everyone just how important we mothers are.
