Kim Zolciak To Get 'Housewives' Spin-Off Show?

After the massive news that Bravo fired four cast members from its hit "Real Housewives Of New York," more changes are in the works for the franchise -- including a new spin-off show starring Kim Zolciak of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."

“Originally the show was to be five African American women but after Bravo met Kim, they insisted she be part of the cast,” an insider tells me. “Kim is a game-changer. She was the first housewife to release a single ["Tardy for the Party"] and just like Bethenny [Frankel], she fell in love and got pregnant while taping the show. She’s the perfect choice for the next lady to get her own show.”

The Atlanta franchise premiered in the fall of 2008, following the Orange County and New York casts, and just one year later became the highest rated show in the franchise and the highest rated reality series on the Bravo network. The season three finale brought in a staggering 4.4 million viewers. Season four filming began in late April and is set to debut later this year.

“Kim’s new show is going to follow the very successful Bethenny formula,” an insider tells me. “A new mom and her fiancé trying to make everything work. Juggling baby, boyfriend and career. But instead of all those trips to a therapist that Bethenny made, expect Kim to work out her problems at the nail salon with friends.”

What's up with all of these 'reality' shows? Are writers too lazy to write anymore? There's nothing like a 'good movie and I'll take a 'bad' movie against all these reality shows with all of these NOBODIES.

The difference between Kim and Bethanny is night and day. Bethanny actually HAS a career. Kim, not so much. (I'm discounting the singing career, because anyone who watched the show, heard the song knows she can't sing a note. Bless her heart.) If you ever listen to even one minute of dialog from Kim, you immediately recognize the clarity between class, and classless.

More "reality" with a middle aged bleached blonde white woman whom you will never see washing a dish, pulling clothes from a dryer, stopping to fill her car with gas, but whom you will no doubt see in short, shiny, flashy clothing as she desperately tries to appear ten years younger than she is.

When the network advertises its shows with "All the Drama! All the Tears!" then it is clear they are simply manipulating events to create the atmosphere for the fights, the gossiping, the confrontations. "Whose side are you on?" they breathlessly ask. And yes, I have watched several episodes of several of the franchises (I never know which city I'm in. If I see a couple of black women, then I know it is Atlanta, but there don't appear to be black housewives in NYC, New Jersey, or California.).

None of these ladies White nor Black deserve a show until they can offer something of positivity .It's a shame their grown women and don't even care about setting a example for young girls.Entertainment don't have to be trifling.

OMG! NO. has Bravo lost their sanity? First they fire Jill, Alex, Kelly. Leaving classless, mean-spirited Ramona and nasty Sonja to carry the show. NOT. LuAnn perhaps, but she needs others to spin with. Now Kim, who doesn't really have one good brain cell, is going to get a spin-off. I think Bravo is messing with a franchise that has been alot of fun to watch. Messing so much, that I for one have no desire to watch anymore. Get back to the basics, Bravo, or Housewive's is going to just another franchise, in the past.

I honestly think that NeNe would be the more entertaining cast memeber. Bravo should REQUIRE kim to take her wig off and finally show us her real hair, as part of her contract. The only thing Kim and Bethenny have in common is that they both got preggo and fell in love. Bethenny worked her butt off to make Skinny Girl the successful franchise that it has become. Kim is a gold digger (as everyone else has already mentioned) and she has no talent, no work ethic, and needs to fall off the hollywood radar already.

I think NeNe is more entertaining too but she definitely was not the same this past season. I mean she has always done some bullying but she was rough this last season. It could very well have to do with the failing marriage and trying to start a new job.
Kim makes me laugh sometimes but she is just trash to me. She has no work ethic, no responsibilities other then her kids and even they have a nanny. I am sure she loves her kids but she is too busy trying to be their friends. I was dumbfounded too to hear how young she is. She looks older to me.

Umm Bethanny has drive, determination and has been very successful with her Skinny Girl drink mix. She is not living off of her man they are making it together and supporting each other in their careers. Unlike Kim who is a gold digger, and one hit wonder (only because of Kandi) and wanna be wig designer. She was dealing with a married man who financed her life style and now shes suckered an athlete into getting her preggers. You cant even compare this chick to Bethanny. Alas it will be what it will be another scripted "reality" TV show.
