Just one day after his predecessor was in town promoting his autobiography, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is due in Chicago for two re-election campaign fundraisers Tuesday.
According to NBC Chicago, Biden will appear at a reception at the downtown Sheraton on East North Water Street about 3:45 p.m. Tickets to the Sheraton event run $500 apiece.
Afterward, Biden is expected to attend a dinner event at the home of Chopper Trading CEO Rajiv Fernando. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that ticket prices for the dinner will range from $10,000 to $35,800 for "host" status.
The fundraising push in President Obama's hometown arrives a matter of days before the end of the third quarter, as well as in the midst of a national debate over the president's jobs bill and debt plan.
Biden has also made fundraising stops in a number of other states recently, and will make another appearance in Solon, Ohio, Tuesday morning outside the Wrap-Tite Inc. There, Biden is expected to discuss and urge for the passage of the American Jobs Act, Twinsburg Patch reports.
